Will it be easy to come back to Phuket from Phang-Nga by land?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I just heard that you'll have to quarantine yourself for 14 days

and take a Covid test (3,000B per head) if you fly into Phuket

from BKK but will it be hard to leave and come back to Phuket

from Phang-Nga by land? Will there be any requirements that

you'll need to meet at the road check point in Phuket?

Thank you in advance.

I think the strict requirements for air travel are based on BKK being a covid "red zone", Phuket and Phang Nga are yellow and green respectively. So i would expect no problems coming back to Phuket once you go over the bridge. It would be more logical to set requirements the other way around (as Phang-Nga is safer than Phuket), but as far as I know nothing is being done at the check point.

I drove from Phang Nga to Phuket 2 days ago, no problem. You will have to register at Phuket checkpoint and check temperature, that is it.

I would like to know if we need one of the various apps to travel out of Phuket. I am thinking of a ferry to Phi Phi for a short break. Will I have any issues.

What if coming from Prachuab Khirikhan which I belive is a "soft red Zone" is it then swab test and  quarantine?

Phangnga to Phuket you need to register on gophuget.com the same day you enter the island and show it at Tha Chatchai checkpoint.

Can be long queues at time.

A friend of mine came into Phuket by bus.  Original departure Buriram via Bangkok.  had temperature checked at the checkpoint but that was all.  This was Thursday of last week.

Maybe this helps?

  • 2 weeks later...

Has anyone entered Phuket by land on motorbike/car in the last "couple" of days since new announcements....!?

How about going the other way to Phang Nga...!? ( I want to go to Krabi and back 2 days later on bike).

What if you have no app and not registered , can you just write name and details there and then...! ?

Also in the latest announcement Phang Nga is now an Orange Zone, not yellow and requires 14 days self-monitoring...., what is that...! In this day and age shouldn't everyone do that all the time...!? ????

I came in yesterday. Had registered on gophuget.com and when I don't have a phone with any possibility for downloading any app my better half had the app installed and in addition it was the temperature check on Tha Chat chai. But what made me a bit bewildered and sceptic about the seriousness of this app thing was when wifey show me the reply after scanning the Mor chana that we was very healthy and of very low risk for covid-19 infection due to a body temperature of 36.3 and 36.5, respectively???? I mean its done in seconds and not exactly a health check up????
