Hua Hin: Cock fighting gamblers ordered jailed

Twenty two gamblers caught in a cock fighting raid in Hua Hin appeared in court yesterday. 

 

The organizer, a lady called Patnan, 36, was jailed for 2 months under the terms of the 2005 emergency decree and fined 1,000 baht for gambling. 

 

The rest were fined 1,000 baht and jailed for a month. They all admitted wrong doing to get reduced sentences.

 

They were let out on their own recognizance and plan to appeal. 

 

The raid was in Soi Hua Na 19 in Nong Kae.

 

In their headline Naew Na said their faces were pale resembling boiled chicken after they were sentenced.

Maybe put sharpened spurs on their feet and put them all in a ring together. Let them see how it feels.

what does the decree state?

Pale faces should receive double the sentence and fine to be in keeping with tradition ????

At least they get to keep their cocks, the authorities could have had them removed.

Cockfighters don't use spurs in Thailand.

That Fighting chicken has a longer and better life then that chicken u bought at the market ... Cock fighting should be Legalized ...

Cock fighting IS legal in Thailand, it is the gambling that is not, and anybody that thinks betting on a cockfight doesn't exist is daft as a brush, There would be no point in spending large amounts of money on, training equipment, feed, rent on cock fighting rings if not to make money, some cocks can be sold for huge amounts of a million baht up.

Cock fighting next door to my house , sometimes 10 pickups along the soi , they are never parked in the way cos if they were I would phone the plod . Although the plod may be part of the events next door.

Large cockfighting venue near me Darkside Pattaya. More than 20 cockpits, on Sundays, most in operation at the same time. It used to be the national sport and probably still is the largest participant sport, same as fishing in the UK. Known as the sport of kings as it was introduced into Thailand (Siam) by a previous king.
