Had something sent to me (letter)from the Midlands by tracked service at 4pm Monday, Thursday it was in  Bangkok, Sat am its waiting for me to collect. 5 days !

I find that astonishing given the usual 10 day is normal experience

Guess this one was in the right place at the right time.

In contrast, an item sent from Australia on Jan 8th has just touched down in Bkk after 15 days.

That’s good. Last two pieces I received from the Uk took 3 weeks.

Have been visiting Thailand since 1992. I've had a lot of stuff sent to me over that period. Five days is normal for an airmail letter.

Of course COVID-19 put paid to that.

My daughter sends me packages of vitamins (much cheaper there than here) from Oz.

By normal (trackable) post, arrive every time in about 10 days.

She first sent by Special Express post .....much more costly,  still.arrived in 10 days.

I think you also have to consider "final destination" as naturally Bangkok etc will be 2-3 faster than other areas of the cou try as an example.

In this instance Bangkok in 3 final in 5.

Except for State Pension life certificates where the norm has always been 4 weeks minimum in my experience.

We received a Christmas card from friends in Port Glasgow today, it was posted ordinary airmail on Dec 7. When I enquirer at our local P O at the beginning of Dec. I was told that no Airmail for U K could be accepted, only Seamail.

Over a period of 20 years I found 5 days to be the right amount to avoid disappointment. She items took longer - a Christmas pud turned up in Feb/March after being posted in late November....still edible though.

Amazon sent an incorrect book order (most of theirs were 3 days after the initial oder took 5) and the corrected order took 24 hours

OK I can beat you ALL still waiting, well not really, for an xmas card posted Nov 2019. Mind you our postie can't be bothered to drive up our small soi and deliver anything at all Nano zilch. useless they are. I once found a new passport of mine sitting on a table in a far corner of the PO back office while they were trying to track it on their system.
