Is there 125cc bike with manual transmission and electric start?

Featured Replies

Is there any popular bike (like Wave, Smash etc.), that is 125cc, has fully manual transmission (with manual clutch you have to hold while shifting) and electric start? What brands models?

Stallion and GPX have real manual bikes around this engine size , 125 , 150 , 200 and 250. Lifan also has some 200cc bikes.

Honda CT125 - But no clutch. gets good reviews.

Honda Grom everything but a bit small maybe.

Benelli TNT 135 is a manual clutch , but not a full size ( wave) bike.

Afaik it's possible to convert a Hond Wave to manual clutch, if this would be an option.

If 150 cc is an option: Yamaha Exciter 150

I forgot about the Yamaha Exciter. Yamaha quality, fantastic bike.

I want to buy trashed bike out of Facebook marketplace/Kaidee and put this engine on another/custom frame. For this reason I'm looking for something very popular, easily available here in Thailand.

I did something similar month or two ago. I had small 49c pitbike frame. Bought Suzuki Smash (manual,  110cc) from Facebook (non running)  for 2500 Baht. Made the engine run with 800 Baht. And put it on that small pitbike. Tons of fun. Still loving every ride.

Now I'm thinking about another build. And this time I would like 125cc or higher + manual + electric start. And I'm trying to figure out where to get it, from which bike.

Hard to find any of the mentioned bikes.

But I found some engines out of Honda MSX 125. Which looks like what I'm looking for.141514627_904657770353936_9142161430343714323_o.jpg.8378be6a87c40a787515369129ed50e4.jpg

All Honda Cub based engines can be converted to manual clutch. So any Wave 125 engine would fit the bill. Plus lots of big valve heads and cams and stuff.

Crashed Honda MSX would fit the bill.

I think there was a Honda NSR 125 type bike in Thailand. Manual and 2-stroke!

I have one of those - now about 7 years old.

It's a great bike. Small, powerful, perfect for roads with bad traffic.

And it's fun to ride, just like a real bike.

The Honda Sonic is similar with 125cc.

Better stay away from mud with the fender that close to the tire

I'd consider a Grom/MSX125.

A lot of people think they are miniature bikes but actually they are virtually identical seat heights to the Sonic, Wave, Raider etc.

Grom 761mm

Sonic 762mm

Raider 764mm

Wave 765mm

There are a few variants available for 2021.
