Insanity on Sukumwit soi 11 has been ordered closed for 5 years as reported in The Nation.

This was the flashest late-night club in the area. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration would appear to be serious about punishing bars and pubs which don't operate according to the new Covid orders.

I have mixed feelings about this. It's good to see they are serious about enforcing rules but at the same time, it was a popular bar,

Bye-bye, Insanity, it was nice knowing you.

Or Insomnia.

Back to the future, when it first opened in 2010 (in Soi 12) it was called Insomnia for a while (same mob as Pattaya), rebranded to Insanity when it was sold in 2012 (?) before it moved to Soi 11 in 2017.

Misread the headline:

Insanity! -     Sukumvit 11 Ordered Closed For 5 Years

seemed a little extreme......

3 places closed for similar looking offences, 2 for 14 days and the third for 5 years.

I would guess 2 have a smallish turnover therefore limited capability to pay a  larger penalty, the third different kettle of fish as they say.
