Manager spoke to the Pattaya mayor Sontaya Khunpluem after Chonburi was allotted just 4,700 doses of the 200,000 Sinovac vaccine that arrived in the country.

Chonburi - and Pattaya that is in the province - were included being provinces with a high level of tourism. Others were Phuket, Surat Thani and Chiang Mai.

They got even less at 4,000, 2,500 and 3,500 doses respectively.

The mayor - who earlier tried to pay 80 million baht to procure his own supply of vaccine but was slapped down - said he would be following the government requests to vaccinate those in the medical profession and necessary people who need special consideration.

Manager reported no further details and did not even state how many vaccinations would happen in Pattaya or whether other tourist places in the province would also benefit, notes Thaivisa.

He forgets to say who the necessary people are, he should have said after me and my cronies have had the jab, whatever is left can be used on medical staff.

How very astute of you.

Do their shoes make them hi-so?

No, but buy them a new phone, gold, a new motorbike, a condo, a house for Mama in the village, a farm, and a bar, a shop, and a car, all in their name, then, they are hi-so.  ????

This Government doesn't seem to be interested in  the vaccination of its citizens, even to slow to catch a cold, maybe if they drag it out the virus will disappear and they can save the money...

You are irrelevant and expendable. Please give that money back. Thanks.

This is what Thailand's direct competition is doing.  I would have thought a similar press release from Thailand would have been pertinent.
