that is very strange timeline.

sinovac arrived on the very same day, wednesday, and was approved on saturday. Now already rolling to hospitals.

originally they planned to start vax on thursday.

the previous set date was for valentine day.

looks, like they are in habit of delaying every step.

that is, certainly, blame on health minister, who can't organise a vax program on such small scale.

one can wonder how are they going to organise 10mln per month within near future.

also what is the real motive for some 20 day delay. I don't buy their official story that paperwork was missing. That is not the trail how large international company, like astrazeneca, operates.

???? Agree with your post...

They are delaying at the request of the Chinese so that the Chinese can say the Sinovac vaccine was first.

They'd rather put their entire population at risk to save face of their cousins the Chinese.

The only thing that worries me about the AZ jab is the South African experience.

SA stopped the trial after they said it wasn't effective against the SA variant. Thats concerning if a bunch of folks have the AZ jab then the SA variant becomes the dominant strain.

I think one of the advantages of the mRNA approach is that they can be modified quickly, as Moderna has already done.

Then again sooner more people are vaccinated with whatever and it slows the spread, and by extension the ability of this damn virus to mutate

after several european countries suspend AZ, thailand follow the suit

"Thailand suspends AstraZeneca vaccine because of ‘adverse symptoms’"

Thailand needs to follow the science and not knee-jerk reactions from European countries.

Thailand has delayed the rollout of the AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine over reports of blood clots, despite there being no evidence of a link to the jab.

There is currently no indication that vaccination has caused these conditions, which are not listed as side effects with this vaccine.

Someone, somewhere seems to have a bee in their bonnet about AZ and is trying to give it a bad name by whatever means. So many headlines, so little substance.
