Popular Post webfact
MP debunks claims about PM’s alcohol spraying gestures Na-ark Rojanasuvan BANGKOK (NNT) - Pareena Kraikupt, a Palang Pracharat Party Member of Parliament, has explained that the Prime Minister’s alcohol spraying gesture as “playful” amid online criticism. Pareena was referring to Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha being seen spraying a row of journalists with alcohol before leaving the post-Cabinet meeting press conference on Tuesday. The act triggered laughs from the reporters. She dismissed comments that the laughter in the press corps was a nervous reaction to the Prime Minister’s unexpected behavior. The MP said that the reporters know General Prayut loves the press corps and feels comfortable enough to joke with them. Although people at home do not view the move as malicious, the gesture nonetheless made global headlines in a different light. Brian Berletic, a former US Marine who is now a Youtuber running a channel called “Land Destroyer,” commented that international media outlets may have the incorrect interpretation of the Prime Minister’s gesture. He explained that the Prime Minister’s action was nothing to be alarmed about, saying that the “Prime Minister likes to tease reporters” and vise-versa. According to Berletic, the reporter was asking a question about the Cabinet reshuffle which they knew General Prayut would not answer, triggering the Prime Minister to react with a humorous gesture. "There was a press conference here in Thailand. Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha likes to tease the journalists and the journalists like to tease him. At the recent press conference, the journalists were asking him a question which they knew he wasn’t going to answer. The were teasing him, so he would like to tease them back” Berletic, a self-proclaimed Geopolitical Analyst is familiar with the Thai political culture. -- © Copyright NNT 2021-03-12 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 1

Popular Post ThailandRyan
Playful? Really?, The look on his face while he was doing it and yapping. 2 hours ago, webfact said: He explained that the Prime Minister’s action was nothing to be alarmed about, saying that the “Prime Minister likes to tease reporters” and vise-versa. His gestures say otherwise Mr. Berletic. He was truly displeased with the questions and acted like a spoiled brat, not in a humorous or teasing way either. If he had had shaving cream he would have sprayed that as well.....

Popular Post mikebell
I'm sure the International Press appreciates the matter being cleared up. The PM has long been lauded for his playful nature and impish sense of fun. You should hear his stand-up routines about Democracy and The Fight Against Corruption. 1

Yep, a laugh a minute - and it comes naturally, a necessity for stand-up comics.
Popular Post JonnyF
Presumably the PM checked that none of the journalists present were Muslim before "playfully" spraying alcohol in their faces? Prayut just made himself look like a buffoon. I'm glad the world's media picked up on this so he can lose face on a global scale.
Popular Post internationalism
Pareena is not a spokeperson for the PM, the government or any other body. She is an outstanding defender of establishment, involved in every political row, including often personal abuse. She build a farm on a protected land, some 500 rai, for that she is being investigated by courts and her MP status will likely be suspended. Berletic is a conspiracy theorist very much loved by royalists and far right. He is associated with russia run disinformation campaigns. For that his multiple facebook and twitter accounts were suspended in 2019. https://www.khaosodenglish.com/politics/2020/11/04/conspiracy-blogger-tony-cartalucci-reveals-his-identity/ https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/politics/1719415/facebook-shows-posts-of-banned-accounts-in-thailand National News Bureau of Thailand is just the government sponsored propaganda, which would quote any media rug, to clean the PM. and here what people around the world do think about this incident https://www.independent.co.uk/asia/thailand-prime-minister-journalists-hand-sanitiser Yes, the stupid journos were smiling, but the PM was not joking, he was not smiling. He was shouting and abusing them. Most likely those in the first row were journos from the army controlled medias, that for the safety of the PM. The rest were at the back. Most likely there were not independent media, they are vetted by security Edited March 12, 2021 by internationalism 4

AKA Tony Cartalucci etc. This 'person' has been a supporter of the Yellow Shirts and Thai military rule since day one. Best completely ignored. If that is the only support the PM is getting then you know he is in trouble.

Mr Meeseeks
Mai bpen rai. Sanuk sanuk. He'd be better off stripping down to his waist, donning a loincloth and lounging in a hammock all day, because this sort of behaviour indicates a similar mentality and intelligence.

Popular Post robertson468
In the UK this could be deemed as inflicting "actual bodily harm" and is a criminal offence. Remember, if the alcohol gets in to the eyes, it hurts and hurt is bodily harm. Does Thailand have a similar law?

Popular Post mtls2005
I have to say we did all see the video, right? The pm looked quite angry and agitated, rather than playful. This sort of puff piece just makes things worse with the Thai audience, IMO. More so when you have to rely on a foreigner to support the spurious claim.
