Yes, the speech was written by someone well before it was spoken, so he could read it a few times and not make gaffs like others recently. He actually read it rather well, considering.

Trump's speech at CPAC was written by someone well before he spoke.  And he stayed on script.  Amazing.

You have seen the videos of Trump's gaffs?  Or do you just focus on Biden's that are due to his speech impediment?

The economy is going to tank, it's only 2 months since he came to "power".

Would you seriously buy american stocks right now?

Yes, buy them all the time.  As you may know, just because some stocks tank, others will do well.  It's called diversification.

One great outcome of this stimulus will be that many people from the US will invest it in bitcoin, raising the price. No one is bullish on US stocks at the moment. Even Warren Buffet has moved out of the US with his investments.

Agree good to see at least a small percentage of this law will go to help Americans.  We will be paying for it into the next generation.

Be careful what you wish for.

On that, we can agree.  I just hope the moderate Joe Biden reappears soon.  No doubt we have trouble waiting in the wings.

I'm going to give the snipers of popular President Biden this point. It would be better if President Biden engaged freely with the press more often. I have concluded that this is a conscious strategy. He's trying to get his overall job done for the American people and I think his advisers have concluded he can more effectively perform his job avoiding such exposure rather than the risk of messing up such exposures. He'll be criticized either way. They've concluded better off this way. I would wish for a president that can do it all 100 percent but we've never had such a president and we don't have one now.

Supporters of most of President Biden's policies are not in a cult of personality like the followers of mr. trump. Never have been been, aren't now, and never will be. There are cases in history where political cults of personalities can be a positive for societies. But usually it's the opposite. Biden promised to be just about opposite of mr. trump. Keeping more promises.

Thank you for sharing some common ground.  Nobody wants to see the most powerful person in the world run away or get ushered away from the few open press questions thrown his way.

I don’t believe Biden’s followers are cult-like.  Nor do I believe most Trump followers were.   What’s different today is the sycophantic media coverage of Joe Biden.

What's different today is that the current President didn't spew obvious lies ("biggest ever inauguration crowd") starting on his first day in office and then declare the press was "the enemy of the people" when his blatant lies were fact checked.

Bitcoin should be illegal and the people trying to use it fined and/or imprisoned.   Furthermore, the purpose of the stimulus is to stimulate the economy and create jobs. People dumping into bitcoin are not only doing something potentially illegal but also destructive to the economy.

Great stimulus plan and I bet he has another one coming later in the year.

Biden I believe realizes he will be a 4 year Pres. mostly due to age.  But in those 4 years, he will be one of the greatest Pres. ever I can see his place being readied at some point for Mount Rushmore.

Oh, I don't think he's looking that long into the future, mark my words.

Could you put an sell-by date on that or is this one of those "Jesus is coming any day now just you wait" kind of thing?

Why not?  He's in great shape.  Better than Trump.  No worries at all for the next 4 years.  Mark my words.

Mark your words?  How about a wager?  I don’t think Joe Biden will last a full term.  How about one of those purple notes?

Biden is a super ager and will last more than 4 years according to geriatric experts. He has parental longevity, access to top-notch healthcare and abstinence from smking and drinking. In fact Trump is more worrisome because of his morbid obesity, lack of excercise (Biden has a rotuine fitness regimen) and highly stresses with all the lawsuits. Time to change your bet.

And i bet you trump plays more golf than him, even though he said he would be too busy to play golf. Then said biden probably plays more golf than him.

Out of 4 years, the 2 times impeached, one term president played golf and had executive time to watch cartoons for half his time in office.

Well, they actually also said that Trump is a super-ager. And while Trump is obese, he's not morbidly obese. They did say the odds favor Biden surviving Trump.

Hard to tell when he lies on just about everything including his height and weight.

If you're not going to comment on the actual subject of the thread -- the newly passed $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief/stimulus legislation in the U.S. -- don't bother.

Thanks for your advice—but I won’t change my bet.  Let’s see who gets benefit from this $1.9 trillion spending.  As a retiree, the debt won’t get paid off in my lifetime.  More a problem for next generations.
