I have everything I want: - I rent a beautiful little house by the Mekong river in Luang Prabang - I have a very flexible and enjoyable job teaching science online, which provides me with a regular. modest but sufficient income to enjoy my life and still save money every month. - I am rid of wives and hangers-on who seemed to only be nice when there was money around! - I have good health and good health insurance - I have a nice off-road motorbike for exploring the hills in north Laos - I even have a newly-built swimming pool and pool house???? Mostly content, although: I wish I didn't have to do annual extensions I wish I didn't have to do 90 day reports I wish I could travel overseas But most of all, I wish I could see young ladies back at the bars, this used to help me be content. Not sure about the dead part, as I do believe in some form of an afterlife. How conscious we are depends on alot. Slightly off topic, but I have often felt that like stupidity, intelligence can often be a curse. Having 10 IQ points less, could have been a blessing. As many of us know, the mind is not always an ally. I know alot of very sharp people, who have tortured minds, and allow their minds to inflict alot of pain upon themselves. Having an excess of brain power, is not always a good thing! Controlling the mind, controlling one's owns neurosis, and being able to have peace of mind, and contentment, are beautiful things to experience. How's that satellite you were going to send up doing? Is anything missing in my life? I dont know ,I find if I'm not doing some work I get fed up but then I have the dilemma of not wanting to do some work, could never balance that equation and still can't.
