Popular Post webfact Posted March 31, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 31, 2021 Picture: Sanook A tenant left a premises in an awful mess and left the landlord owing two months rent. But there was worse - they also spray painted a goodbye message and covered the place in gasoline to go with the mountain of trash that amounted to two truckloads. Netizens after a Facebook post reckoned the tenant and the owner must have had a big bust-up. A subsequent post by the landlord said that they had rented to a husband and wife for 7,000 baht a month to run a motorcycle repair shop. But then the guy had a car accident and the pandemic hit resulting in the landlord lowering the rent to 5,000 baht. But the couple split up and the man stopped paying the rent and asked for a delay. The landlord lost patience and told him to leave. The landlord said they had never argued about anything. After initial reluctance to respond to Line messages the former renter has now offered an apology, reported Sanook. And the landlord has decided to just let it go. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-03-31 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 1 4 2
tifino Posted March 31, 2021 Posted March 31, 2021 that's a decent equivalent of would could(should) have been paid off rent, now all dripping off the walls, in paint and petrol
Popular Post BritManToo Posted March 31, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 31, 2021 looks more like a 2000-3000bht/month rental place to me. 1 2

Ruining a rental is extreme but there are many more common forms of this in my view. Smoking in a hotel room where you shouldn't. Tossing cigarette butts wherever. Leaving your garbage on the ground where you were parking and driving off. beating on a rental car. Not tipping when you should. Just leaving messes wherever and expecting others to deal with it. 9

It depends on the location and if we could have seen photos of the place before it was trashed. quote from the OP. "A subsequent post by the landlord said that they had rented to a husband and wife for 7,000 baht a month to run a motorcycle repair shop." From that it seems to me that it was probably a shophouse, with the apartment over the m/c repair shop. 4

Saw one of these delightful Chinese today at Korat immigration. The a hole just spat on the ground whilst sitting in front of my daughter and myself in the outside waiting area, mask down waffling away on his phone then just spat on the ground. I abused the ox, straight thru to the keeper. There are some real pigs on this planet. 4 1
GrandPapillon Posted March 31, 2021 Posted March 31, 2021 imagine if a farang did that, the police would have found him and thrown him to jail, with a criminal court case for destruction of property I think it happened to one farang a few years ago, over same alleged claims by the owner that some furnitures were broken and went to file a criminal lawsuit that got accepted by the court 1

It seems they are having a crisis of sensible. Still, pays your money, takes your choice and they appear to have p|ssed off everyone else. Good job they're the best at everything, I have a feeling they're going to need that.
salavan Posted March 31, 2021 Posted March 31, 2021 Isn't that the way tenants always leave a rental property it's normal 1

chilly07 Posted March 31, 2021 Posted March 31, 2021 And what deposit was paid? 6mths in advance and 6mths deposit wouldn't have covered it. Landlord should have evicted at first sign of problem. Be soft and you will be taken advantage of! 1

Sir Dude Posted March 31, 2021 Posted March 31, 2021 Well, low emotional intelligence and hissy-fits are fairly cmmon these days and it doesn't take much to trigger people regarding their entitlement. Renting a place is pretty black and white really ... pay the rent or leave. 1

"Not tipping when you should." So just when "should" someone tip? Unless you get something more than the service you are paying for, why should anyone tip? Because America says so? 4

They were spick and span when we left, and almost up to march in/out standards for the handover of military married quarters. We left no outstanding bills or rent behind either. 1

Well, of course, it definitely depends on the country's way of dealing with tips as pay for a job and local culture. Americans are pretty generous and they do often give more than they have to. I guess they just care about people more. What country do you come from, Possum or are you too cowardly to say?
