No he does not I suspect as Roojai offers that coverage. You say will not be accepted - by who ? Do not get confused with covid coverage for those already living here with the governments requirements on those wishing to enter Thailand.

Yes, I was only speaking about the entry/re-entry requirements.  But what can one get with a 100,000 Baht policy?  Will this cover 14 days in the hospital if one tests positive for Covid 19?

I suspect if you are in Chiang Mai Klaimoor Hospital...yes

But if in Bumrungrad in Bangkok definitely not

Even only 100,000 baht is better than nothing, but of course  hope I never need it

In a provincial government hospital easily. Of course if you wish to go to say a Bangkok private hospital that specialise in pandering to Arabs, then most definitely no.  However from my experience the doctors in the former are concerned about your health and strive for full recovery asap whilst the same in the latter but with a further emphasise on maximising profits I suspect as many of the doctors there work in both types of hospitals

Should cover in a government hospital including private room.

So $3200 USD will get one a private room with a nurse for 14 days of treatment at a public hospital?  But I read that Chiang Mai just opened up a field hospital at a convention center?

Fast and convenient but NOT inexpensive!

I paid close to $1000 USD to enter TH (retirement).

 

If someone knows less money let us all know as I am doing this again this summers end...

I thought the same i.e. insurance only required for the length of stay or length of visa ?

As part of the CoE requirements EVERYBODY currently entering Thailand needs to have a 100.000 US $ covid-19 treatment insurance that fully covers the period provided by the Permission to Stay he would receive on entering Thailand.  So it will depend on which Visa you enter Thailand whether you need that covid-19 insurance for 45 days (VE-entry), 60 days (Tourist Visa entry), 90 days (STV or 90-day Non Imm O Visa entry) or 1 year (Non Imm O-A Visa entry).

OK , thanks for that but if I have only 3 months left on my non o retirement extension do I have to get 1 years covid insurance ?

No , you only need to have the 100.000 US $ covid-19 treatment insurance for the period provided by the Permission to Stay you would receive on entering Thailand.   If you have a Re-Entry Permit that protects the permission to stay from the 1-year extension based on your original Non Imm O Visa, you would only need the insurance for that remaining 3 month period you would be stamped in when entering Thailand.

If you have a valid Re-Entry Permit that protects the permission to stay from the 1-year extension based on your original Non Imm O Visa, you would only need the insurance for the remaining period protected by that Re-Entry Permit (3 months in your case).

Included in our Aetna Platinum Health Insurance Plan.

 

We received COVID-19 health coverage certificates automatically when we renewed and Aetna have made a clear statement that their insurance covers COVID-19. 

 

 

 

I got the 450B/12 Euro Insurance. Why? The risk to be with one of the "infected" in the same place, like a market, restaurant or 7 is exponentially exploding and as we all know they can test a Papaya positive for Wuhan. Which means there is a high chance you are forced into quarantine should that happen.

 

2 scenarios

 

1) put a credit card on the table and they will bleed you empty. Reported was a case already in Pattaya which was charged 421000 THB.

 

2) put that 450B/850B insurance on the table and you will end up in a sports hall with field beds, charged that 450B and you're out sooner than you came.

 

Go figure.
