Have you ever thought it’s not about the number of people dying but the infrastructure not being able to cope with thousands upon thousands of people needing hospital treatment at the same time? Healthcare systems can’t cope logistically nor financially with this scenario, hence the need to stop the disease running rampant.

This is a bad move they'll live to regret. The business community has been decimated by the pandemic and is pushing the government hard not to lockdown. In the end everyone loses. This country can't get their people vaccinated and have lousy vaccines anyway. I'm heading to the USA next month to get a good vaccine. I've gotta take the chance, because this country is about to have their biggest wave of the pandemic. It's self inflicted. They're spraying the border areas to try to stop the virus. They didn't allow water to be splashed during the holiday, but allowed mass gatherings and travel between provinces. The ignorance is amazing! Didn't the health "experts" go to school? I'd relate an experience with customs about that, but let me just tell you that the Thai FDA has no expertise whatsoever. They'll probably lockdown in a week when we're up to 10K cases nationwide and numerous more deaths. Stupid, stupid, stupid...

Yesterday it was OK to have a wine with dinner, Today, the Government has decreed that

the anti alcohol lobby wishes to advise that you may catch the virus from alcohol.

But to allow millions of Songkran revellers to travel around Thailand (most returning tomorrow & Sunday does not spread the virus.

Nor does buying alcohol from the favoured ones 7/11 & having a party

In a nutshell yes, just like it was important to buy an aircraft carrier and have no aircraft to fly from it, now or in the future.  They just wanted one so had to buy it, plus of course the syphoning of of the inflated budget for distribution amongst themselves.

Exactly..those unlucky enough to suffer full blown symptoms will require 24 hour care/7 days a week..1500 cases a day(we know of)and next week?Nurses and physicians are not robots..ventilator's are not a dime a dozen(unless you are Hi So and can afford)so there is no shadow of a doubt thousands will miss out on critical/specialist care.The very thought of already seeing victims families in Brazil fighting over oxygen tanks to treat victims at home sends shivers through the body.Stay Safe!

I remember when they were reporting people dying of these "experimental vaccines" and they were all saying, it's not the vaccines, they would have died anyway, they were old, it was a coincidence, well yeh sure right, then they started dropping like flies much younger, healthy doctors, nurses in the front line and others, and they kept saying, it's a coincidence, or they had some underlying conditions that we couldn't know about, but then someone brave enough came out and said hang on a second, blood clotting is being caused from these "experimental vaccines" and then we have those like yourself that goes on the defensive when someone thinks outside the square and doesn't go the way they want us too.

 

Give me a break, you want the "experimental vaccine" got get it, for me, like I said, I will look for alternatives until I am convinced that these "experimental vaccines" are safe enough for me to say jab me, until then, not a part of it, oh and don't worry about me infecting you, because even if you have the jab, you can still be infected, like me without the jab, the severity of the infection will depend on your immune system which can also be a risk, but I have one and if it comes to it being tested without the vaccine, well, that was my decision not to get an "experimental vaccine" at this point in time.

 

Trust is something I don't have when others are telling me it is the right thing to do when it comes to my life, suffice to say, I will stay in control of that for as long as I can thank you very much, I am no hero, I'm special ????

 

This view is not a problem in a country with a very low number of infections but now that the UK strain is rapidly spreading out of control, you will soon find the risk of long covid or dying is far greater than the minute risk vaccines pose. Just look at the avoidable mess France is now in due to the large number of anti vaxers and Macron's foolish remarks.

As Richatd pointed out the risk you take whenever you go on a Thai road makes vaccination risks seem insignificant yet you came to Thailand despite that extremely high risk.

By the time you can get a vaccine they will no longer be experimental anyway. While here in the UK we will be on to the next experimental vaccines for the new variants. Which I will get as soon as I can, in full knowledge that they will be safer than not getting them, just as they are now.

To put it in perspective I know and meet many people affected or killed by covid yet none who have had any lasting problems from any of the vaccines. 

Also the jury is still out on whether these blood clots have been caused by the vaccines. Covid19 is known to cause blood clots so just because someone dies after having a vaccine doesn't mean it was caused by the vaccine they may have recently caught covid. 

Vaccines would have to be far more dangerous and/or far less effective for me not to risk them but then they would not be available.

Yes, some of the horror stories emerging out of Brazil are truly frightening.

 

Some hospitals have run out of anaesthetic and have had to intubate patients by restraining them.

A nurse described it as torture.

 

I have no idea of Thailand's capabilities but this is not a disease you want to run wild.

 

The "it's only been two weeks" is absurd.

 

All that means is that it is just starting to ramp up... precisely when you need to contain it.

 

And the Samut Sakhon outbreak was in December.

 

It never went away after that.
