The dog owner who was ripped apart by a savage American Pitbull "Ban Dog" has died in Chonburi Hospital, reported Siam Chon News.

Wisit Sanguanmak,56,was bitten in the neck, ears, head and back and was found in a pool of blood on Thursday at 3 am in Moo 9 Bang Lamung, Pattaya.

Giant - who he had looked after for two years since he was a three month old puppy - was taken away by the Pit Bull Zone Association.

Wisit's wife, Wanphen Khumkhong, 56, said her husband passed away at 11.30 am yesterday and the funeral would start today.

Many people online in a story that attracted widespread interest on Thaivisa said that the only answer to a dog that did this was euthanasia.

Dog lovers placed the blame at the door of "bad owners".

Meanwhile 77kaoded reported that Giant was already settling into his new home hundreds of kilometers away in the central/north Thai city of Nakhon Sawan.

Reporters found Giant on a chain in a spacious, walled yard in Nong Pling, Muang district where he was behaving himself despite looking a bit miserable.

It should be noted that their story preceded the news of the death of the owner as 77kaoded frequently referred to the attack as merely "a bite".

New owner Sueksa, 37, has experience having owned 4 pit bulls before and he felt sorry for Giant.

He accepted that a close watch on the new arrival was needed as dogs that bite were liable to do so again.

He reported that Giant appeared "sad" and would need careful handling and attitude adjustment to accustom him to his new surroundings and lower his stress levels.

A neighbor called Somprasong said that he and others had never had any issues with Sueksa's dogs.

Bloody unbelievable, what are those clowns thinking? Poor owner dead, yet a bunch of clowns think they can retrain a  killer dog, what the hell are they on? Loony pills maybe.????

  • I am not a Thai basher but a dog-owner basher.  Working dogs would be spared my world wide cull of these muck-making, disease-spreading, accident-causing beasts.  The dog population in Thailand is out

  • Think about it. The guy had it for 2 years, since it was a puppy, and it turned on him (for whatever reason) and mauled him to death. I doubt you could ever trust it to not do the same thing again

And to make it even worse from reading that report apparently there is something called a

"Pit Bull Zone Association" - what is that, an organisation of mentally challenged people who are training these killing beasts ?

I doubt you could ever trust it to not do the same thing again if "triggered".

Your family sounds great liking "supper dogs" too, but I find cooking them for 3 hours in a moderate heat oven a bit of drag late at night so hence a lunchtime BBQ is better.????????

Hahaha....sorry, I don't mean supper....it should be Super, sorry for the spelling mistake. Edited just a while ago.

I realised that , just wanted to lighten the air a bit on what is a sad story, have a nice day.

Whose fault the owner or the dog...

maybe this dude thinks he's got himself a 'free' winner?

 - wide spread netizen responses advertising he has the mutt; means he will feel 'protected' from prospective thieves 'being advised' now that he has a killer in the house?

You cannot trust any dog of any breed...especailly around children......I was a reluctant dog owner......he was as good as gold, but he never went with out a collar you could grab always on his lead in public......and he was chained up when ever we had visitors.

Ha...was about to right something similar.......how many times must that have been said? ......on beach........in a park.......outside someone's house.......dog owners, generally, have little bit missing.

Think of it...instead of a cock fight, they should have a Bull dog fight in the Pit ????

This response doesn't help the stereotype of life being cheap in Asia.

Knowing dog owners, many will be more concerned about the the dog.

If the article I read was accurate it happened when the owner was asleep, so no recent provocation.... or exceptional cunning on the dog's part.

I might suggest Sakon Nakhon as more suitable.

Perhaps deepest darkest Nakhon Nowhere would be better.
