Marine Activities (Boating Fishing Scuba Diving Etc) Suspended

Featured Replies

All marine activities suspended in Phuket from today, 18 April to May 1. Hopefully covid numbers will return to "normal" and will resume after this pause. The complete order is attached for Thai readers. Not sure if a national order or Phuket province only.

Phuket only.

For now.  Reports of divers on Koh Chang being infected on a dive boat also.

What about surfing? Was going down this week.

The latest understanding of the provincial order is that it is specific to organized scuba diving and snorkeling trips. The consensus is that personal beach/water sporting activities, e.g., swimming, kayaking, surfing, jetsking, and maybe even snorkeling/scuba are allowed. A couple of the beach surfing schools are also posting on FB that they are still open for business.
