I have been sent this video in Thai https://fb.watch/52u2bstAL5/. I have been told it explains that I must register at https://www.dlt-elearning.com/Home then watch an online video, then answer a test. If I pass the test I must take a screensave as proof of passing and then take it to a local konsong to do another test to renew the license.

I have found this training video in English https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_OlCIFBoIo together with specimen questions below.

Has anyone done this online process? Once you enter is everything in Thai. Are the test questions at the end in Thai?

Is there anyway I can do this process in English?

Thanks for any help.

OP, There is no test to renew a license, besides eyesight etc.

I think you will find doing any tests online is only an option for Thais, as is the appointment system. You usually need a Thai ID number to proceed.

Its all a moot point at the moment as I think you will find DLTs are shut again due to shutdowns.

Hi Peter, thanks for your reply. https://www.dlt-elearning.com/Home requires a Thai ID. And the facebook video was for Thai people.

I think you are right that it is moot as the offices are closed. But I would still be interested if anyone has tried this route.

I actually renewed my license a couple of weeks ago and I was successful making an appointment using ID number from pink ID, so possibly Pink ID would work for eLearning etc.

Once I got to the DLT, they cancelled the booking and put me on the Foreigner with passport list.

*"Shaking head and muttering thats only for Thais"*

The offices are not completely closed.

Some details here:

As I understand normal extensions (not overdue more than one year) can still be done.

Can't help about the queue system. The online system seems to work for Thai people only.

Peter, That's useful to know. Long story - I have just got a pink ID and was thinking of trying the onli

ne learning with that. At your office that would not have been welcome. My office is not helpful and I have been advised to go to the next Amphur where it might be easier - a common local practice. I think neither have a "foreigner with passport" track.

But not now they are closed.

Thanks for this. I might try and see if I can renew as less than a year - it could drag on. I was told the office was closed but I haven't been to check.

Do you have a Thai ID number?

Not everyone has a yellow book and even with your Thai ID number I guess being falangie you would have to wait on the amnesty program as already said.

My immigration office refused to issue a Certificate of Residence so the Amphur asked me to go through the long process of getting a Tabian Baan and a Thai ID card. I am hoping this will be proof of address but I am not sure.

Because of the problems I have had so far I just want to know I can renew my license - actually find some way into an appointment or queue.

Check the thread that I referred.

Maybe you are simply covered by the official "amnesty" until June 30.

KhunBenq I suspect I will have no problems during the amnesty. Immigration refused to issue any more Certificates of Residence. The Amphur said get a Tabian Baan and Thai ID, and the konsong would not accept them.

So I want to try and be sure that I can get in the queue - somehow. This is not Farang trying to queue-jump.

I was told earlier on in the week by ChiangRai licensing office to wait until after 30th June. Foreigners cannot do anything online - only Thais. Driving licenses expired - do not worry - OK due to covid regulations......

DLTs are open but not for 5yr license extensions as this requires viewing a 1 hr video as 'training' in their office which they are not doing. Absolute nonsense as 2yr and 2yr-2yr extensions don't require 'training' RTP confirm lapsed license ok till 30 june but I am having difficulty getting Muang Thai to confirm it's ok with them. Actually I am having difficulty in getting Muang Thai to answer customer service lines or respond to emails!

I was able to renew both my licences to a 5 year in CR. yesterday the very last day of the year long extension. My licences expired on April 20 2020. It took less the two hours. Just a color chart and peripheral vision test. 500baht + small processing fee for the car and 250 for the motorcycle. 760baht in total. Very happy to not have to retest and start over with another 2 year licence. Very painless and I spend far more time in hospital lineups so grateful. This was on the 19th last week. Although it was converting a 2year to a 5 year it was also out of date by 364 days. but not problem  quite smooth.

Good to know. And you didn't have to sit to watch video (in a group)?

Correct. It's the 5-5yr licenses they are not doing as that requires sitting with 40 other Farang in a room and viewing a 1 hr 'training' video. Thais can do this on line through DLT apps so it is only Farang 5-5yr licences affected.

Sounds as if you snuck in by one day, good.

Foreigners don't need appointment, I had been told and it was true. Just showed up with all correct paperwork. VDO, brake test, vison test. 2,.5 hours in and out. Done.

I wish that was the case. 5 years ago I did just that -without the video. This time, same DLT office - all kinds of problems. A combination of an immigration not issueing CoR and DLT office being difficult.
