I remember last year after the racist rant by Anutin. For quite awhile afterwards a lot of Thais thought every (white) foreigner was infected. I remember hiking up Khao Kitchakut a couple weeks later and watching as people would see me and immediately pull their masks over their nose/mouth and start spraying disinfectant spray.

And remember that Anutin was blaming "Westerners" for the problem, not the Chinese and that was long before the first cases of an infected "Westerner" coming to Thailand.

My OP was about police swooping on and targeting farangs, as this was going on Thais were sitting together drinking eating and laughing at the spectacle 100m away 

 

why do police target farangs - simple answer - they can screw them for money

 

and since the announcement late yesterday about face masks and fines it was clear what was motivating them.

I think you will find that's the main attraction of Pattaya City, not just Soi Baukhaew.  ????
