Sputnik V, new hope in fight against COVID

Featured Replies

Hey  If you get the Russian vaccine,  just think It was not  Made In China.   Think on that for a few minutes.

Plus it sounds as if the Sputnik V  is more effective as well, and that is a good thing.

  • So not even ordered yet!!   Expected delivery?    I'd actually accept this one (luckily too old for the Chinese stuff).   By the way the real Sputnik V was the the first

  • The sputnik vaccine... one dose and you'll feel like you're floating in space...

  • Antiparovian
    Antiparovian

A small step in the right direction. Certainly on the basis of scientific evidence better than Sinovac. I think I'd actually have Sputnik V given the choice. Pfizer still my Number 1 choice though.

By the way the real Sputnik V was the the first space flight that actually returned living creatures back from space, unharmed.

Really? One dog, and a mannequin named Ivan Ivanovich.

From Wiki: During the descent, the mannequin was ejected from the spacecraft in a successful test of its ejection seat,

Whoopedeedoo.

And that was 60 years ago.

Is there any information available on whether the Sputnik V vaccine has already been approved or registered by the relevant Thai government authority for either emergency use or general use?

A quick web search brought up the following news regarding approvals of Covid-19 vaccines for use in Thailand:

1 March 2021: AstraZeneca and Sinovac

25 March 2021: Johnson & Johnson's COVID-19 vaccine

Here is a sort of real world data report from the Hungarian Government, certainly going to ruffle some feathers:

https://www.pharmiweb.com/press-release/2021-04-28/rdif-publishes-official-vaccination-data-from-hungary-s-health-ministry-on-sputnik-v-s-twitter-account

https://www.business-standard.com/article/current-affairs/covid-vaccine-sputnik-safest-pfizer-s-shot-worst-row-over-hungary-data-121042800019_1.html

The data shows the number of infections and deaths per 100k vaccines, after all vaccinated people received 2 jabs.

Actually looking at the numbers AZ does quite well.

Interesting a paid for press release linking to the twitter account of Sputnik and a facebook page of a graphic with no actual study just unverified figures.

The other link says:

Accurate conclusions cannot be drawn from the table since it ignores multiple conditions that would level the playing field of its variables, and allow for the valid comparison of vaccine types, according to a report in Hungary Today.
