Night-time restrictions currently imposed in 28 provinces

Individual provinces are authorised to apply appropriate measures to contain local transmission of COVID-19

Bangkok – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) would like to inform travellers that currently, 28 provinces across Thailand have imposed night-time restrictions, urging everyone to avoid going out at night unless utmost necessary, effective until further notice.

 

Additional four provinces, from last night update, include Nakhon Ratchasima, Krabi and Pattani, as well as Buri Ram which asks everyone to remain inside their residence all day.

 

This is a living document, which the TAT Newsroom will update the list of provinces where night-time restrictions are in effect as soon as new information becomes available.

CENTRAL REGION

'restrictions, urging'   Two contradictory words.

It needs draconian enforcement, not 'urging'. Most people will abide by it, but most isn't enough if they seriously want it to be effective.

So close bars, discos and pubs, where people get floozy and blow spittle on each other.

Well in that case  the Thai  administration must be the only group of people in the world who have stars up their backsides, because that is where their heads are most of the time ????

Life as normal in my part of Buriram provincem which, as stated above is under an all day curfew!!!!!!!

Normal as in nothing to do no place to go, or as in normal with wide open restaurants, alcohol being served, bars open, massage shops etc... So which normal.?

Normal inasmuch as locals are still going about theuir normal daily business, yet Buriram is supposedly under a 24 hour curfew!

 

No mention from anyone, anywhere whether shopping is allowed, trips to hospital  etc or what just an ALL DAY CURFEW!

More seriously... I would like to remember the "curfew brigade happy triggers"... that curfew do not work.

 

France has a curfew since.... more than 6 months !  First, 6 PM, then 7 PM (soon it will be 9 PM then 11 PM in june).

 

(it started in Paris areas and 8 other urban areas on october 17, then was extened to the whole country 1 week later).

 

And ?

 

Well look at the charts (cases and deaths)...

 

This is real life, in an organized country (the curfew is respected, lot of police checking etc.).

 

Curfew is just a wet dream for maniacs, politicians (most of the time, they are the same) and control freaks.

 

From an epidemiology point of view it's a pure fantasy...

The mother of all abbreviations, this week's word is "DMHTT".

In true local fashion, the "curfew" is recommended or compulsory - depending on province and in line with the variation of night ban, anything between 9 pm and 4 am. The South with 3 am is an exception as the minarets need to be manned and operational by 5 am = explains the early bird. 
 

In Buriram though stay at home all day; the Chidchobs have spoken. Saksayan is happy not having to answer timeline questions on his little excursion to the Thonglor lounge .... ahem ... church and the rest of the folks - who are they anyway. 

Is it not appalling what kind of power an individual governor of a province has; wondering if the 77 chosen ones are aware of the fact, that the dreadful virus is not more dangerous during curfew than any other time of the day? But yeah, this logic is found in reducing the number of bus vehicles serving public transport so more people can squeeze into fewer buses; the virus must have a field day?

Yes.  People tend to be more careless at night and risk close contact without precautions.

 

Combination of fatigue, alcohol (home stash or bought at store and drunk outside), and congregation habits.

These so called "curfews" are just gesticulations by powers who seem to have lost it all.

 

What is needed is a total alcohol ban with a strictly enforce curfew, probably from 9pm to 5 am.

 

This will not only reduce Covid transmission, but also limit the number of ICU slots unduly used by injured drunk motorbike drivers. While the good people can get on with their lives.

Night-time restrictions between 11pm - 4am when nothing is open anyway, but the other 19 hours of the day you can do as you like?
