Thank you for your replies and I have tried to delete through the path you advocate but I cannot! I just want to delete past unwanted content and stop the need to buy more space. May I offer my Line id 33riverside so you can pm me

 

So which exactly did you try? Explain what you did. Did you actually delete anything?

I fully advocate selfhosting - I don’t use any cloud service for data storage and all my home automation services are locally hosted, it costs me a lot of time, energy and money but for me it’s worth it - However, I have no issue with paying Apple 99B a month or whatever it is to manage our household apple devices, i think it’s worth it.

 

if you want to save some space isn’t it as simple as deleting some photos on you phone and then going into the trash folder and emptying it - I find thats where the majority of my storage usage lies,
