ubonjoe
No discount on our bill but is much less than yours. It is exact same amount of usage and for the amount to be paid on the bill. It was a little confusing since the receipt for the online payment done for last month attached to the bill and the new bill were exactly the same.

PC @ 200watts for 5 hours per day = 30 units/month. AC @ 1500 watts for 2 hours per day = 90 units/month Fridge freezer @ 100 watts for 24 hours per day = 72 units/month There's almost 200 units already without fans, showers, TV, lights. Sophon
Surprisingly, our use of A/C seems to have very little influence on our electric bill. The man comes around on the 19th, so our bill covers the period of the 20th of the month until the 19th of the next month and these are the numbers for the last four months: January-February, zero A/C use, consumption 299 units February-March, 7 hours A/C use, consumption 362 units March-April, 111 hours A/C use, consumption 367 units April-May, 103 hours A/C use, consumption 372 units Our bill goes up in the hot season, but it seems to be more about our fridge and freezer working harder than out A/C usage. Popular Post OJAS
Given the frequency with which the PEA seemingly get a kick out of playing silly b***ers with the electricity supply round here (by pulling the plug for a couple of seconds, thus meaning that our wifi modems, TV set-top boxes, aircons, etc need to spend what seems like an eternity in rebooting after the electricity has come back on), I think that the very least they can offer us by way of compensation for the inconvenience is a discount!???? Will have to do further investigation! A conventional A/C will draw (very) roughly it's BTU rating / 10 W when the compressor is running, so 12,000 BTU would draw abour 1,200W. Your units do seem a little thirsty (are you measuring VA or W?). Anyway, unless they are seriously under-sized or you keep pet penguins the compressor should be running about 30% of the time so that 1,200W (1.2kW) would translate into about 0.4kWh per hour of useage. 1

KannikaP
While on the subject of PEA, their Smart App seems to be up the Swannee. I have used it successfully for over 6 months, easy to pay the bill via Banking. This week I opened it up and it said there was an upgrade, so I clicked YES. Got one of two messages, either my phone is not compatible (Huawei on AIS) or not available in my country, (I am in Thailand). Went to local PEA office where a techie first uninstalled the app, then could not find it in Google Play Store. Tried to install on a 'blank' Samsung with the same results. A student in the office then came to tell me that the upgrade is no good and will be sorted in the coming weeks. I asked if this meant that no-one in Thailand can use the app, to which I got a giggle. Has this happened to any members on here?
fishtank
Just got our bill. No discount at all Guess I am not a Thai Visa Mod. ???? Looks like this month we used less units than last month. A strange way to calculate discounts. Would it not be easier and fairer to just knock a % off the total? Edited May 21, 2021 by fishtank
