PHUKET: Pornthep Channarong, the corporal with the Phuket Provincial Police who was drunk off-duty when he shot 25-year-old noodle vendor Aroon Thongplab in the stomach on Bangla Rd, Patong, in February, has been denied the right to post bail.

 

The Phuket Provincial Court made its ruling yesterday (May 19).

 

Bangkok lawyer Kerdphol Kaewkerd, who is providing free legal assistance to Mr Aroon’s wife, Kulthida Chananan, confirmed the news today (May 20).

Is this possibly a mis spelling and they really said Bali denied, as the border between Thailand and Bali would make it difficult for him to slip over during this pandemic and his lawyers should go away and rethink of applying for Cambodia or Laos ????

Unclear. Did they deny him the right to post bail or did they deny him bail?

Bailed denied denied to a cop who committed a heinous crime. Unusual but good on the court.

Brilliant let's hope he stays banged up until the conclusion of the trial. With a bit of luck he won't make the trial.

This should be an open and shut case, but we know it wont be
