Any Phuket RT-PCR testing location able to give results in 24h?

Hello all,

Leaving to Japan soon, and trying to figure out the RT-PCR timeline.
We apparently need a hard copy (no email) of a testing report format provided in Thai/English andJapanese by the Japanese Ministry of Health, so trying to figure out a way to get RT-PCR results in 24h in Phuket.

Bangkok Hospital says 24 to 48h, which doesn't work as we won't have time to go pickup the documents and fly to Bangkok for our international flight and meet the 72 hours before the flight deadline.

With the luggage and all, we're trying to avoid sleeping in Bangkok if at all possible.

Thanks!

Thanks. I hope this is true, I called Bangkok Hospital this afternoon and they said 48 hours, and "best book the flight after the test in case they need to do further investigations", which isn't the most reassuring...

I'll call again tomorrow and check the others as well.

I had my RT-PCR at Phuket Bangkok Hospital 3 weeks ago. I was tested at 10:30 am and received a copy of the lab report by email the next day at 11 AM.

At the time of the test, I had been told a copy of the lab result would be emailed by the end of the next day, but they were obviously early. Their website says 48 hours, but I think that is just to protect them in case there is an unforeseen issue. The cost was 3,000 Baht (details on their website here).

The copy I printed from the email was accepted when I checked in for my Qatar flight in Bangkok and was also looked at and accepted when I arrived in the US.

Thanks for the input everyone.

The issue is that the Japanese authorities apparently want a hard-copy form here filled out by the lab, so I need to make sure they can do that, either pick-up the test result ourselves.

They clearly state that a picture is not accepted. Maybe a PDF scan is, but I'd need to check.

Tried again this morning.
We managed to book at Bangkok Hospital and arranged to go pick up the test results the next day, since the lab must fill in the required form - they seemed to know about the Japanese requirements, which is great!

thanks all

My friend went last week to get the test, Phuket Bangkok main hospital promised come at 1pm (not 10am as he requested) and get the result , printed doc 3500b, 10am next day. But when he turned up they changed their tune and said result arrives next day at 1pm also....!!!!???? Very annoying as he had afternoon flight that day...

So they called around and sent him to Siriroj, they did it at 1pm or so and gave him the result at 10am next day, same price..., good service.

So be careful, I think going at 10am should get you the result the next day 10am, but you never know with this lot...!

AFAIK all are using the lab at Siriroj, and tests are done overnight. So results will alwys be around 1 PM, unless closer to the source.

I'm guessing from 1 July they will be a bit more busy , with people coming into Phuket and needing a lot of PCR tests left and right....!

It would be good if anyone who does it , report here with their feedback after 1 July , so we know how the situation becomes....

No queue and quick turn around now, but who knows after 1 July....!!! ????

so if you do the sandbox, you have to pay for the PCR tests and they cost 3,000? So that is 12,000 thb in testing out of pocket?

this isn't covered by the mandatory covid insurance you are required to take out, or the increased cost of the SHA Plus+ hotels that you are required to stay at?
