Yes your a minority because the rest of us understands how it works. In my country they want to open schools up teachers are protesting feeling unsafe.

 

Lockdowns do damage that is for sure, nobody likes them. However if you open up you get to a point where the healthcare system cant take it anymore.

 

This lockdown is just to slow the spread while people are being vaccinated. That is the only way forward. Believe me i don't like this anymore then you do.

It just keeps growing, and growing, and growing.  If they had the forethought to get ahead of this maybe things would not be so dire.  However, tourism will be returning soon to make up billions in baht in Phuket's Sandbox...

I don't really disagree with you, other than the so-called lockdown here is very arbitrary.  While I wouldn't have liked it, I'd have preferred to have seen a more thorough but shorter lockdown than the illogicality of what we have now.   Everyone has their own priorities, and family (for most) comes first.

Only 26 days to go for the Phuket sandbox experiment. Bars still closed, no alcohol in restaurants, no friends allowed to your house. 

 

There's a lot of pressure to keep covid numbers down for the opening and I've not seen any pro active testing units anywhere on the island nor has anyone I know.

But if they test they will find more infections so stands to reason that rather than showing to the world the real level of infections they have chosen to pretend infections do not exit by not testing. That is no different to what has happened throughout the country since this all began.

Well they have never ever tested in line with WHO recommendations so they are not likely to start now .

Yes 1 day.  Now after  65.000.000 mainly AZ jab there are usually single figure deaths. Recent rise in cases to 5 or 6.000 owing to the rapid grabbing of 80% of cases by the very infectious Indian variant. So do vaccines work?? 

Testing around 800.000 per day. Plus 2 free self test kits per person weekly. At around 38 deaths in Thailand its sure that testing in paltry. These figures can easily be confirmed by googling "public health England covid daily report.

Weren't people predicting a similar doomsday scenario in early April?  There's a lot wrong with the current government, and their handling of the crisis certainly leaves a lot to be desired, but not every country can be like New Zealand.  The constant pessimism and gloom-mongering does get rather tiresome though.

Unfortunately these large scale workplaces (as I'm sure many know) are very susceptible to outbreaks.  Meat processing, manufacturing, call centres, you name it.  

Once this gets in it's imperative to shut the whole place down or it is over-run.

Think the free lateral flow has no restrictions, just recommended you test every 3 days, but can test everyday if you want. When I ordered mine in the email it just said order more when you are nearly out of them, and they turn up within 48hrs.

Bit of a finger pointing write up.
No amount of sex party at Thonglor could possibly infect the prison system, factory and labor camps across the country.
It was silently brewing well before the first cocktail was spilled.

Weekend numbers for a Sunday, lets see if tomorrows matches, and then see how Tuesday's numbers compare.  Still rolling right along in that 2k range without an end in sight until vaccinations are going full steam. However, thats just my view and opinion while others believe it is not a big deal and very few are infected and few die.  Sad that anyone has to die because of a virus that does have many vaccines that can help reduce that.

Maybe Brian’s weekly spike will be reported tomorrow.

 

If not, maybe that means the numbers are going down.
