Com'on guys, it takes a a long time to calculate kick-backs, bribes and middle-men fees, so give them a break will you...

And time to decide what to spend that money on.

An announcement about an announcement.

Old news.  Yesterday I heard a pre-announcement about today's announcement of tomorrow's announcement.

Is there any discount for getting one big dose instead of two little doses?

FROM Moderna SEC filing end of fiscal year 2019:

In addition to FDA and related regulatory requirements in the United States and abroad, we are subject to extensive additional federal, state and foreign anti-bribery regulations, which include the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the U.K. Bribery Act, and similar laws in other countries outside of the United States. We are developing and implementing a corporate compliance program based on what we believe are current best practices in the pharmaceutical industry for companies similar to ours, but we cannot guarantee that we, our employees, our consultants, or our third-party contractors are or will be in compliance with all federal, state, and foreign regulations regarding bribery and corruption. Moreover, our strategic collaborators and third-party contractors located outside the United States may have inadequate compliance programs or may fail to respect the laws and guidance of the territories in which they operate. Even if we are not determined to have violated these laws, government investigations into these issues typically require the expenditure of significant resources and generate negative publicity, which could also have an adverse effect on our business, financial condition, and results of operations.

More like 3000 baht for a single jab by the time nurse and doctor fees are added in.

No that 3000 was estimate for the drug cost! A low estimate so price headroom is left for Pfizer.

Also clinic fee , PPE surcharge and  mandatory "insurance" for so called side effects

It's like Christmas in reverse....

I think the total price will be rounded up, including Dr/ Nursel Ancillary staff fee, to a nice 6000 baht.

Any advances?

Jokes aside.

Finally it seems as if we can get another vaccine, rather than being maneuvered into Sinovac.

Cheers Anutin, you are my hero. ????

And in the worst case Moderna pays  fines to US Govt, with "no admission of wrongdoing".

No -- the worst case, whether found guilty of wrongdoing or not, is that the fines, penalties, and legal expenses incurred prove more than the sales.

Hope so. One reads of large fines, that are a tiny fraction of yearly sales.

Outside of embezzlement and fraud, SEC violations that land whitecollar crims in "The Fed" these companies are so lawyered up to be untouchable. Thus the boilerplate filing posted.

A cost of doing business.

Register: check

Price: check

Vaccine available: ?????

That said, sounds like Zuellig Pharma is close to a deal with Moderna. At least on volume and price. Availability? Not expecting miracles here. A drib here, a drab there, hopefully they can hit that October target.

it's a 3000 baht plus doctor fees if required, i got my conformation already, would rather wait for something real, people complain about Sinovac, but would you like a Thai made AZ?

"for an alternative vaccine, with an expected vaccination in October 2021.
The price is about 2,000 baht per needle, including hospital service fees."

I took for granted the lack of help from this government to Expats.

A real pleasure to pay for a safe vaccine for my age… ????

There are NO safe vaccines...they all carry risks, albeit low risks.

Had a pneumovax-23 vaccination in BKK hospital, price 2200 baht..

It came out 312 baht cheaper as the same jab in the Netherlands.

Wife bought a package of Pneumovax-23 and Prevnar-13 for 3500 baht, not a bad deal either.

Prices include everything.

over month ago they were quoted $34 per dose and claimed they will charge 3k for everything..

Later on Anutin vax tax was introduced at 11%, and insurance 100b.

Because of high interest and shortage for alternatives, price will be growing. Do expect some 6k when it will arrive in October
