Registration at 7-11

Today I went to a 7-11 near Ploenchit Station to attempt to register for a vaccination.  They laughed and apparently knew nothing about registration but suggested that I go to the the mass-vaccination site at the Tesco-Lotus at Phraram 4 tomorrow.  I may be turned away as many people who went to other mass vaccination sites have reported.  I have tried to register on the thailandintervac site with no success.   If the crowd is large tomorrow, I will leave to stay safe.

'Has anyone had success and been vaccinated at one of the mass vaccination sites?  I don't remember reading any success stories.  Most of the people who report success on Sheryl's thread registered through 

Mor Prom.  Comments will be appreciated.

My Wife told me today of other ‘registration sites and options’

My Wife and I tried a ‘fake’ registration to see if I could register, and forward the news to help others out.

 

True App - Full, No appointments available.

DTAC App - Full, No appointments available. 

AIS App - Full, No appointments available. 

 

Apparently the registarations for True, DTAC and AIS apps were opened on May 27th - All ’slots’ filled up. 

 

 

7-11 - No idea if that works - No surprise that the Op found out that the staff had no idea.

Family Mart - No idea, probably the same as above (the announcements were just hot air).

 

 

Mor Promt - Still shows slots available (for those with Pink ID) but those slots are rejected./

 

Thai Chiana - Thai Ruang Jai (within Thai Chana) this is the same app used before to get a discounted holiday, my Wife registered her appointment through this app just last week. 

 

Intervac - (for foreigners) - very very very buggy (I was unable to use it, couldn’t get past no drop down menus).

 

Trial and Error - Some foreigners have turned up to Vaccination sights towards the end of the day and asked to be vaccinated. Some have been turned away, some have had success. 

 

 

 

Someone pointed out on another thread. Its a total s#!t show - but so was the US vaccine roll out at the beginning (apparently), the UK's was pretty impressive..... So don’t loose sigh of perspective and balance, Thailand has very low numbers - things ’should’ get more organised in a month.

Thanks, Richard.  I'll try going in mid-afternoon but be prepared to be turned away.  I wish that countries with surplus vaccine would donate it to Thailand.

I tried the vaccination site at the 7th floor at Central World.  

They don't do any registration and from the look of it they are mostly vaccinating Central staff.

I’m pretty sure this one will be a popular hit on this forum once the ThaiVisa news team get hold of it.... 

 

Thai ‘semi-hi-so’s’ trying to fake it as moto-taxi drivers so they can get vaccinated as a priority in the ‘vulnerable’ group eligible for ‘walk-in vaccines at the Bang Sue vaccine centre.

I registered via Mor Prom and got my first shot on Mon, 7 Jun.

 

When I arrived at the vaccination site, there were two lines. One was the Mor Prom line, and the other was a line which, I assume, was for people who had not yet registered. It looked like it, because they were asked to produce ID and sign documents. Those in the Mor Prom line already had their names on a list.

However, all the others at the site I saw that day were Thais, not any foreigners. In fact, I had several staff come up to me to show off their English, and tell me I was the first Pharang they had seen there.

So, going to a vaccination site might be worth a try. If they can't/wont' register you, at least they should be able to tell you how to do it.

I might add, the Mor Prom app was immediately updated after I got my vaccination, and now shows all those details (see screenshot below). And the day afterward, I was sent an message on LINE from Mor Prom and directed to a place on their app where I was asked if I had any reactions, and had a list of them I could check. They were doing a follow-up.

 

Also, they gave me an appointment for the 2nd shot in 3 months.

I did feel a little light-headed after receiving the shot, but that slowly decreased that evening, and was gone the next day.

As I've mentioned previously. You can only do a Covid registration at 7-11 if you do your 90 day report at the same visit.

I got so fed up spending hours on apps trying to register I decided yesterday to visit my local Thai government hospital from walking in to registering it took me no longer than 10 minutes once done I was informed that the hospital would call me to let me the date and time of my appointment I was told it would be between 1 and 2 months as the priority was the Thai public first which I fully appreciate.

Precisely why do you "fully appreciate" the blatant discrimination? Do you have some special immunity to the virus because of your skin colour? Are you less likely to infect others should you catch the virus because of the colour of your passport?

Why should they not look after their own first.

We came here of our own volition, chose to work & (or) live/retire here in a pretty much a 3rd world country knowing there was no safety net for health cover unless you covered yourself or had SS in which case your employer would have arranged your shot already.

(if they were  in any way caring).

Are we treated as inferior ? , not to me but they expect us to be able to look after ourselves

go along to a private hospital & register

As in other countries, well civilized ones, vaccination should be done on the basis of age and health risks, and not on the basis of where you were born, your contacts or how rich you happen to be.

Because the objective of a vaccination program is to vaccinate the community for the benefit of a community. Selectively vaccinating Thai’s before foreigners when other nations (*UK, US etc) are vaccinating anyone regardless of nationality in order of vulnerability alone (i.e. Age, Key workers, at risk groups, then younger ages) - Anyone, could be a Thai on a long holiday in the UK... they can still get the vaccine.

In which case, give foreigners the opportunity to look after themselves and give them an option to buy the vaccine, not to get ‘ahead of the Thai’s’ but at least alongside them. 

 

What about the migrant workers?

 

Your dumbed down and oversimplified outlook on this is myopic.... It is important for everyone in Thailand that everyone else receives the vaccine, no matter where they are from.
