Party chiefs refute claims Parliament to be dissolved

BANGKOK (NNT) - Leaders of government parties have dismissed speculation the Prime Minister’s recent sense of urgency was a sign he is planning to dissolve Parliament, assuring observers the government remains tightknit.

 

Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, as leader of the Phalang Pracharat Party, said today that the current administration will complete its four-year term and there will be no changes within the party during this time. He added the party’s annual general meeting next week will not include discussion on how it intends to campaign during the next election.

 

Party Secretary-General Anucha Nakasai and Deputy Leader Somsak Thepsutin joined in the chorus of denial that there would be a change to Phalang Pracharat’s managing board. They insisted the party is focused on working to enforce public confidence ahead of the next general election and noted that due to the nation’s current crises, there could be no Parliament dissolution.

Meanwhile, Bhumjaithai Party head Anutin Chanvirakul addressed rumors the party had recently gained MPs from the opposition, denying the claims along with speculation that the administration will be disbanded. He indicated he continues to work closely with the premier daily and there have been no signs of a looming dissolution. On members of his party criticizing the work of the administration in Parliament, he said they were merely doing their job.

 

Pheu Thai Party Secretary-General Prasert Chantarawongthong nonetheless voiced his certainty Parliament will be dissolved in the near future, saying it would probably occur after the matters of constitutional amendment and the budget are finalized. He denied the existence of turmoil within his own party, answering queries on whether or not its members had moved to the Build Nation Party, by claiming Pheu Thai remains ready for a general election.

All that is generally opaque to me, but it seems 1) the majority of Thais are undeceived as to what really happened in the last 12 months, do not trust the government to act in the people's best interest and are disgusted by the present state of affairs, 2) too many do not want the Chinese vaccines, bringing into question the attaining of herd immunity, and 3) unless the Bangkok area case counts decisively start downward soon, there will be no high season this coming winter and then the political implications of the economic pain will get really interesting.

With the new borrowed budget of huge money, I would think that all the head swine and minions will hold off as long for profitable seeing the fruits they can eat from it. I don't think the constitution will be any less manipulated than it is now, and if it is true that opposition MP's did jump to big mouth's party of  Bhumjaithai, then these people are nothing more than squid traitors to their voters, should be banned from politics, and put under an ongoing never ending investigation for any new wealth gained for the next 10 years. MP's don't become traitors if there is no gain from it.
