BANGKOK, June 25 (TNA) – The government rushed into preparing more hospital beds for COVID-19 patients in Bangkok where there were as many as 107 clusters of the disease’s outbreaks, rising by eight over the past 24 hours.

Dr Apisamai Srirangson, spokeswoman for the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration, said the eight new clusters included one with 198 cases at a camp of construction workers in Suan Luang district. Officials tested 233 workers at the camp on Pattanakan 38 Road.

lets see if i got this right

increased testing has found additions infections

So they take them to hospital, taking up much needed beds ?

No additional deaths due to this new cluster

No mention of ICU requirements for any of these

No mention of how many hospital beds taken up with flu and pneumonia patients

One of two approaches.
Drop the cycle count of the PCR tests to 28 to minimize false positives while finding those with high viral loads, and

allow the asymptomatic to recover at home.  It won't happen though so they choose instead to risk turning away truly sick and infectious people.

198 out of 233 workers at the camp tested positive!

Still it's just a cluster, nothing to get too excited about I suppose?

By opening the borders, maybe they are hoping more sick people will travel OUT of Thailand!

Safe to say the governments blind eye has now come back to bite their backsides.

Covid in the capital city is now out of control.

No they need more people to blame.

Isn't that where sick people should go?

Or do you condone locking them into their work place?

Governance?

These people are just thieving, uneducated, bandits.

You reach a point where you have so many clusters you might as well call the city one big clusterf*ck.

Just to be clear. The cardboard bed is no joke. It's been produced as a possible solution to the present bed problem. It arrives to site in flat-pack form and is easy to assemble. Once it reaches the end of it's life, it's easily recyclable.

You ain't seen nothing yet......wait till this gets a hold......

"Delta will be Thailand's dominant variant in four months: virologist The fast-spreading Delta variant will become the dominant strain of Covid-19 in Thailand within four months, a leading virologist warned on Tuesday".

Rural areas might just escape, but the urban areas are doomed.

So everyone living in cities is doomed? Hyperbole doesn't really help.

Hyperbole....is that what happened in India?

If this race, vaccine versus virus, is lost that is what you will looking at in Bangkok and Korat.

No. What happened in India is factual and thankfully the situation seems to be improved now. Was everyone in every Indian city doomed? No, hence I felt your comment was hyperbolic, which I think is unhelpful.

Thailand is roughly six months behind India in terms of the delta variant.

If you bothered to research, Thailand is sending all Covid-positive people to hospital...not just sick ones!

After 18 months of this, the term "asymptomatic" hasn't yet reached you I suppose. They should ideally be isolating at home not taking up valuable hospital beds.

So just send what available vaccines they have to places like Bangkok and the bigger cities where there are clusters first.

What's the point in Somchai in Nakon Nowhere being vaccinated?

I will be fully vaccinated after the 30th but it's not like I'm a priority or I'm in a high risk area.
