what does Thailand expect?

when you only become pro active once you find an area of covid-19 do you react.

you are unable to control people moving around the country who are infected.

you do not check the general public for the virus.

you do not have enough vaccine to vaccinate every one in Thailand.

 

do you expect a miracle just because you say something  will happen, it does not.

you expect the amount of covid infected to go down when you do not check all the people living in Thailand, only when there is a cluster outbreak.

your only control is to an area and quarintine the local residents.

 

where is all the vaccine you said was available with no problems.

there are many people who would get vaccinated if there was a way. not a web site which is closed down because the government can hot deal with the problems.

just more bull from the Thailand as they can not get there answers together. every minister has a different answer.

what would it take for the Army to use one of it's C130 planes to fly and pick up vaccine instead of excuses!!

why concern yourselfs about purchasing aircraft and submarines and not care about your people getting vaccinated.

how many times have you launched an airplane or recovered a plane from your air craft carrier in the years you have had it???

It's difficult to think that any 'good' early results for Thailand were anything at all to do with the great competence of the wunnerful Thai government!

I think they totally out of their depth now, I think the OP highlights some valid points, like where are all the vaccines so blithely promised not so long ago by that idiot Anutin ?? Millions a month to be administered !! Produced in their own backyard, yeah right.

 

What happened to the statement that Thailand has the 5th best health service in the world ?? Now people are dying in their homes while they wait 7 days for an ambulance, not for the first time either.

 

And for brevity I have only skimmed the surface.

What did you expect from Thailand ?

Every 'alien' farang who lives in Thailand for a longer time should know what to expect ... the incompetence in the handling of all kind of problems is obvious  .

Air pollution caused by the traditional crop burning that is repeating endlessly every year , people get sick and suffer , the government cannot handle this ...

The many death caused by irresponsible , uneducated drivers , 

the government is unable to improve that .

The Covid crisis now ... first they have been lucky , but now their incompetence shows clearly ...

The list is endless ...

And still they think that they are ' superior ' to other nations ...

How do you call this ?

Ignorance paired with arrogance while showing to the world that they are just childish fools .

For me , they ' lost their face ' a long time ago already .

So , I expected just what is happening now .

True, recent developments have pretty much proven that last year's "success" had in fact been luck more than anything else.

The operative word - was.  After the intense lockdown, Covid was for all intents and purposes under control. Then greed set in, combined with inept, inconsistent responses and the bug snuck back in. Until the majority of the population is vaccinated, we'll continue to do this tragic dance while the economy slowly withers.

yes, "was" is the operative word... I thought Thailand did well, while the world was dying and people were getting into fistfights over wearing masks whereas people here just put them on in public and accepted it...

More like a egotistic thing, an MP trying to gain popularity (failed) by letting Songkran go ahead when the third wave had just started from his hi-so mates nightclubbing. Nationalistic idiocy by him thinking Thailand can do sooo much better than anyone else, by producing vaccines themselves (still waiting on that one), and therefore failing to order from anyone else in time. Not stopping flights from his mates in China from the very start.
