webfact
FILE PHOTO: REUTERS/Dado Ruvic/Illustration Thailand on Monday (June 28) reported 5,406 new COVID-19 cases and 22 additional deaths over the past 24 hours. ● 5,397 new infections ● 9 prison / prison infections Monday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 249,853 with 1,934 deaths. (Total infections since April 1: 220,990) The news comes as next month will be critical for the Thai health system, because hospitals will be overwhelmed and there won’t be enough beds to accommodate the increasing number of COVID-19 patients. Worse still, only about half of the 15 million doses of vaccines expected for the July will actually arrive, according to the Rural Doctor Society. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-06-28 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 3

Danderman123
The number of hospital walk-ins vs those detected via testing is critical today. Are the numbers higher due to increased testing?

Popular Post ThailandRyan
Kaboom, the lid has just been blown off. I wonder what the good PM and his friends think, oh yeah damned the torpedoes full steam ahead as we must open the country for tourism at all costs. We will just lock up the rest of the country boys and girls and put a covering of happy faces showing how much fun folks are enjoying since the general brought much happiness back to Thailand. Ugh this is getting to be to much as we do the wait and see before we take action.....stay safe.
Popular Post darksidedog
I think it is time for the denial that there is a problem here, or that it is under control to be thrown out the window and time for the progression to be very seriously addressed. The hospital system is overwhelmed already and in all likelihood the numbers are going to go up and up. Very bad news. 13

If testing is being reduced or stopped, very high indeed as I would expect them to be symptomatic rather than contact tracing tests. If someone points to a massive cluster uncovered in some worker camp soon, I will feel rather cynical about that.

Popular Post BestB
If I am not mistaken but it’s almost double from yesterday? Numbers were around 3000 per day already . Well at least have new restrictions from today , might reduce the numbers 1

I am sure in the other topics people will want to open the bars as data is interpreted based on the individual his or her needs not on logic. 6

Nah they will just turn up the denial dial a few more notches and further reduce testing as more hospitals fill up and their five or so mobile testing units will be all that's left to test all of Thailand.
Popular Post Marvin Hagler
This is just an artefact so there is nothing to be concerned about. Numbers are up a bit but shopping malls now close at 9pm instead of 10pm so that will bring the numbers down. Also this doesn’t exist outside of workers camps and factories and they have all been locked down now so we should see the end of this soon. All hail our righteous leaders, these are the good people. Simply vote them out in the next election if you don’t like what they are doing. Edited June 28, 2021 by Marvin Hagler Error 2 2

The government is quite good at saying what should be done, but then fails to deliver. Food and water for the construction camps could easily become an issue once they are forgotten about, as recent history has shown.

The daily numbers have been in the 3k-5k range for months...exponential increase implies continued increases, which we don't see. However, it is unfortunate the measures taken to date have been unable to reduce the numbers to the triple digits of last year. I guess once you have this level of cases the genie can't be put back in the bottle (without widespread vaccinations). 1
