We live on Bangna Trad KM 14, it rattled windows and we could see a bit of the fire.  A friend who lives in Windmill said some homes had windows broken and roofs damaged.  Some people there evacuated over concerns of toxic fumes.  The smoke cloud continues to expand.

I guess the house prices just dropped significantly in that area...

I guess someone should ask ... How smart is it to have chemical factory in the middle of housing estates.... or building housing estates right next to chemical factories?

Usually you first have an industrial estate. Then you'll get housing projects being built around it. Nava Nakorn for example started as an industrial estate and now it's become more or less a town with all the housing around it.
