Calling non-white people "coloured" is now frowned upon, I think "people of colour" is the new flavour of the month. You think you're doing the right thing by doing your best to conform so as not to hurt people's feelings, then find that you've started a s...storm. The whole world's gone crazy.

I remember Diana Ross the singer made a point when being interviewed , please do not  call me coloured . Just say black .

The interview was in the UK .

Being abusive to others is hardly destroying society .

Do you really think it makes a difference to the average black man whether he is referred to as coloured or person of colour.I personally think that he would think that it's a pathetic attempt by crazy white libs to patronize the black population to look good to their equally crazy friends on social media.

Ps,it was the managers and senior players fault that put those three kids in the firing line.

Agree......Rashford and Sancho had hardly kicked a ball......and at 19, no way I would have let Saka step up in that situation.....the only other thought that crossed my mind was that they did volunteer and Southgate was big enough/clever enough to protect them by saying he chose them???

Southgate bought on Sancho and Rashford in the last few seconds just so they could take a penalty each , he also gave written instructions, the names of the players to take penalties to the Captain .

They were probably the best penalty takers in practice

I’m not so sure about that.... On Sunday night we all (well football fans anyway) went to bed hurting but very proud of our football team and proud to be English only to wake up on Monday morning ashamed to be English because of some abusive idiots.

Ok... so destroying ’society’ is somewhat of a hyperbolae... but online abuse is certainly not constructive for society, it is detrimental.

Kickball? Football! The game of skill played mainly with feet, as opposed to rugby or American football which is mainly played with the hands and therefore should be called handball.

Yea a common response each time I use " Kickball "  so typical like Charles Tuna I throw the bait and it never fails Charles takes the bite!

Shhhh.  They'll find out that I actually live in Nigeria!  And I'm a rich, handsum German man of nobility and I want to help a poor Thai woman of color see her dreams come true for a small payment of 300,000 THB to pay the lawyers to release the $1,000,000 USD and send it to her bank account.
It's all above board - honest.  My IP is in plain view!

Lord.  I'm married to a brown woman.  I have brown kids.  I've dated black, brown, "yellow" (no such thing except some non-racists use that term), white and heck, I'd date a Telly-Tubby purple gal if she looked beautiful.

Lord people - just get over it.  I don't care what color skin people have.  Neither should anyone else including the OP.  And some people are just going to be racists regardless of their own colored skin.  Any one who thinks racism is the purvey of people of European decent?  You then haven't traveled the world. Not only are some people worldwide racists (all of different colors) but people worldwide also hate people of other ethnicities but with the same colored skin.
Ignore them!  Most people overall are good people who accept others regardless of their skin color - AS It Should Be!
Act locally.  Start with yourself.  Accept individuals for who they are, how the act, and for how much compassion they have for others.  And for those who simply hate others?  Ignore them.  They are an ugly minority.  Don't give them power by feeding their prejudices - ignore them and mock them.  They only exist when you feed them.
Stop feeding them.

There is racism all around the world the UK is one the countries where it can be protected about and bring it to people's attention.

"Sanjay Bhandari, chair of Kick It Out, the campaign group against racism in football, says that data from the last two seasons of football shows around 70 per cent of abuse originates overseas. “These are not football fans,” he says. “They are people who have never been inside an English football ground.” In part that’s because – while our problem with racism is acute – we don’t have a monopoly on being morons. Italian and French football fans are as likely, if not more likely, to abuse black players with monkey emojis.

Some suggest that Russian or Chinese trolls may have weaponised discontent around football to intensify political and social tensions in England. “It will be totally unsurprising if trolls started sharing bad stuff for these players, given that their goal is to sow public discord, and this is an excellent opportunity to do so,” says Savvas Zannettou of the Max Planck Institute for Informatics in Germany, who studies information warfare online."

It wasn't Chinese trolls who beat mob handed Italy supporters in the streets.

In the wake of these online and physical attacks tomorrow there will be an online forum

including Brian Eno, Roger Waters and Yanis Varoufakis.

Because it's been proven that a vast majority the comments of racism came from overseas (possibly Chinese trolls) not England fans!

It's clear that posts like this are designed to cause anti-western sentiment on this forum.

A lot of people, including western governments know what is going on.

Well it wouldn't affect me it's just game like many other sports.

To follow football in a fanatical way is something I don't understand.

I agree with you I'm not into football either but my point is don't believe everything you read a lot of this stuff is designed to cause division in the west and it's not just football.

It's called cyber warfare.

"They create favourable comments or articles on popular Chinese social media networks that are intended to derail discussions that are unhelpful to the Communist Party, they promote narratives that serve the government's interests, and they write disparaging comments and misinformation about political opponents and critics of the Chinese government, both domestic and abroad."

The drunken yobs who draw media attention with their crimes a disgrace

The vast majority of UK's population are appalled by

hooliganism and would never commit violent social offences around a "soccer" game. But let's not pretend racism has disappeared if not for Xi's and Putins online trolls

I am sceptical of many things I read and most are taken with a pinch of salt, media like winding things up and bad news is good news, you hear it on talk radio as well as tabloids.

World Govt's are just as bad as football hooligans if ask me,  I just wish to see USA, Russia, China, Iran, UK and other powerful countries all get together and be friends, it wouldn't stop racism or hackers but collectively they may be able to deal with it, there will be always be some that will cause trouble.

Many things today happening  remind me of a film and the word Kap'ela.

I have not actually seen the racist comments that were made after the England/ Italy game but what I have heard is that there were traces to Russia . Yesterday Bo Jo said that those responsible will be banned for life from attending UK football games but that will not stop foreign abuse and that can only be remedied by the media companies that will meet heavy fines if they fail to halt online abuse . I am not fond of big brother but there comes a time when regulation is needed . E.G. cinemas control the age of viewers of adult/ horror movies but as of yet the online porn industry / horror movies are available to young under aged people and that needs marshalling .
