Popular Post Why Me
India, a chaotic mess of a country, dropped from 400k cases/day in April to 20k today by means of strict measures. Applying the Bochner-Tao theory of randomized quantum extrapolation I predict Thailand will drop to less than 1000 cases/day by Aug. 1. Please feel free to make a note and come back and like this post in two weeks time. 1

If you're not vaccinated it's not IF you will get infected, it's WHEN. Of course vaccinated people get infected too, but they have protection against severe case (but some vaccines are much better than others). I just booked for a jab tonight. So I won't be waiting until October or later for anything and I never intended to IF I could get anything earlier. I do get it, think of yourself first.

Flu experts, estimate that 5 to 20% of a population get the flu in a bad season. They do not really know since they rarely test people for the flu. So, assuming 10% of the population will get COVID, being of a somewhat similar physical virus. That would mean in the USA for example, 30 million people could have or had the COVID. Current total deaths attributed to COVID in the USA are: 34,000,000 cases, 622,000 deaths. Now that case number is highly suspect because many of the so called deaths were old people or sick people or people with various underlying conditions and a flu, or just about any disease probably could or would have or did affect them, and COVID may have just been going for the ride. I also think that many more people had COVID than is being reported. Back in early 2020, in states like New Jersey where I was working, and around New York City, one could hardly be tested due to lack of test kits or facilities. And this went on for months. They would turn you away from the hospital unless you had severe symptoms. The world numbers at the moment are: 189,000,000 cases, 4,000,000 deaths. With the world population at around 8 billion, 8,000,000,000....... if one takes the 10% infected value, than over 800,000,000 million cases may be out there. So again they are under counting by quite a bit. Of course they are not running around testing everybody. With populations of over 1 billion people in China, and India, it is impossibly that they all have been tested for COVID. Is COVID a serious issue? Of course it is. But with mutations, and variants which are known to happen with other corona viruses similar to flues, any vaccine product will have reduced efficacy, not to mention not sure how long immunity will last. Flu vaccines are mass produced in advance of a flu season and the manufacturers have to take a guess at what strain(s) to produce for several months in advance in order to make the millions of doses. The world may keep chasing its tail on this COVID and keep getting diminished returns, while crushing economies. 2 1

Popular Post Stargeezr
For the anti vaxxers with the high IQs. Get your heads out of the clouds. Simple fact is that the Delta and Lambda variants love people like you. When you are sick and dying in a hospital, be sure to tell the doctors and nurses of your high IQs. I am sure that they will be impressed... Not... Geezer 2 1

Sharron Merrilees
I can't see you's are going on about, stay where you are because I'm down here in Australia and we are once again in lockdown And in such a stuff up with the vaccine roll out with Scot Morrison and his pals, by the time we get over this one something else will come along. I can't get vaccinated because of my age and don't want AZ, Pfizer finely got here but only up 59yrs. Thailand mightn't be the land of smiles at this time, but it will be again and I hope like hell to be there.

What I cannot understand is people who say they have the opportunity to be vaccinated but turn it down because they want a "name brand" vaccine. Better take what you can get, especially if you're a foreigner, because I don't see any big shipment of vaccine to Thailand on the horizon. Hobson's choice. Rather like being asked if one would prefer to be shot, hung or electrocuted. I would have refused the Sinovac vaccine. I received AZ and yes I would have preferred an mRNA vaccine. China has a terrible reputation.

I'm so totally disgusted with smug expats implying expats with passports don't deserve jabs. Don't bait me with that garbage again. Try that on someone else. As far as Pattaya yes there is a shortage of vaccines here but some high risk Thais have been served with high risk expats explicitly excluded. If by high risk you mean over 75 then it has been possible for the past few weeks to travel to Bangkok and get a walk-in vaccination of AZ. I have advertised this possibility on here and over 30 acquaintances have taken advantage-they made the effort and did not sit behind a keyboard complaining. That possibility closes today. They just needed a Passport.

High risk in Thailand is defined as age 60 or over and/or with these conditions: - Severe Chronic Respiratory Diseases (CRDs) - Coronary artery disease (CAD) - Chronic kidney disease (CKD) (5th stage) - Stroke - Cancer patients receiving chemotherapy - Diabetes - Obesity (weight > 100 kg or BMI > 35 kg/m²)
