Popular Post webfact Posted July 21, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 21, 2021 Photo from AFP A group of 604 medical personnel, at Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Hospital of Mahidol University, have signed a joint statement demanding that the Thai government procure mRNA or Protein Subunit vaccines for frontline medics, claiming that the existing vaccines are ineffective against the mutated virus, especially the Delta variant. In a statement, issued yesterday (Tuesday), the medics said that, although most frontline medical personnel are fully inoculated, several of them became infected because the Chinese inactivated vaccine (Sinovac) they were given does not effectively protect against the Delta variant, causing a reduction in available human resources and an increasing the burden on the remaining medics, who are being overstretched to the point that it will impact patients. The group accused the government of gross mismanagement of the vaccine policy and of miscommunication with the public in the provision of information, procurement and distribution of vaccines, causing public confusion and suspicion over the transparency of the government and authorities concerned. I thought that any discussions about the effectiveness, or lack thereof, of certain vaccines was prohibited here? Probably should have DEMANDED a qualified health minister? Real vaccines? And how about a real pm? 42 minutes ago, webfact said: The group accused the government of gross mismanagement of the vaccine policy and of miscommunication with the public in the provision of information, procurement and distribution of vaccines, causing public confusion and suspicion over the transparency of the government and authorities concerned. WOW!!! This sort of talk would normally land someone in an Attitude Adjustment Camp, or being charged with several charges of Sedition. Toothpaste everywhere. Clean up on aisle, well, all of them. 4
Popular Post djayz Posted July 21, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 21, 2021 604 medals for these people. 7
Popular Post DLock Posted July 21, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 21, 2021 Whilst I do not disagree, and we are constantly told by Thai experts, and TV knuckleheads, that the Chinese vaccines are effective or at least "better than nothing". They have had their shots, so any new vaccines should go to the next down on the vulnerable list, until it comes around again... We can't keep providing "do overs" because the Thai Government are incompetent... 1 1 2
ikke1959 Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 I am still wondering why the medics keep on giving Sinovac. I think it is better to stopthe vaccination program until there are better vaccines... That would impact the whole country and probably will trigger the awareness of the PM for several reasons. 2 1
MasterBaker Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 so they got 2 shots already and now want more... how about people who got none? 1 1

Maybe the PM thinks it's the doctors fault for contracting the virus, just as he thinks it's the population fault for the spreading of it in the first place? 5
mfd101 Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 Well, good for the doctors. Just a bit late. I guess when everyone's moaning, it's much easier to join in. Only the brave make it to the front line. 2
Eric Loh Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 mNRA vaccines are not miracle cure against the Delta variant. I hope that the medics do not set unrealistic expectation. All vaccines however will prevent serious complications from Delta. https://www.todayonline.com/singapore/singapore-study-shows-covid-19-mrna-vaccines-are-69-effective-against-delta-variant-ong-ye 2
rwill Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 Looks like volunteers for testing the Thai made mRNA vaccine, ChulaCov19. 1
Popular Post Isaan sailor Posted July 22, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 22, 2021 Lucky for them, donation from USA of 1.5m shots Pfizer due to arrive on the 29th. Front line healthcare workers should get this booster. As for the rest of us—tough luck. Wait your turn, or buy plane tickets home. 2 1
connda Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 They'll get all the mRNA shots sent by the US. The United States cares about foreign interests, especially Thais - #FriendsPartnersAllies - US now loves Thailand Meanwhile - no vaccines for pesky US citizens! #UninateOnUSExpatsAndVets 1

Safe medical staff keeps the rest of us safe. They should be first in line. 1
