The above chart is the MoPH's CUMULATIVE per capita comparisons for Thailand and their selected list of comparison countries...

Here's the CURRENT per capita comparisons for new COVID cases and deaths for Thailand and those same countries, where Thailand isn't looking quite so good, with more per capita new cases than the U.S. and Indonesia.

Lots of conditions there for the medics, for instance, those who received Sinovac as their first dose and AstraZeneca as their second will not be getting a Pfizer booster. Why not?

Donated Pfizer vaccine passed to Thai government on Monday, some medics eligible for shots

700,000 doses will be allocated to frontline medical personnel, which means that not all will receive shots from this batch.

The Disease Control Department today defined who is eligible to receive the vaccine:

Reason people in province's not react the numbers like they should! Many think numbers come from outside so we dont need to worry! They really not tell how many infection has locally transmitted in province.

Once again Sumut Sakhon with at a guess one tenth of the popolation of BKK has at a guess around 40% infections of that of BKK. This doesn't make sence. BKK must be higher. Any one have a logical argument other than testing rates and not counting rapid antigen testing why this disparity exists?

Sounds like someone will be charged with defamation by telling the truth. This is getting tenuous for the PM and it looks to be hitting from all sides. If he would not let the grievances of the many impact his frail ego and create new rules to silence them, well then maybe he could admit his incompetence and beg for assistance because he is definitely out of his depth.

The Chon Buri Tourism Council has revealed that Pattaya intends to postpone its reopening plan because Thailand may not be able to control the high rate of infections and provide sufficient vaccinations until the fourth quarter of the year.

Council acting president Thanet Supornsahasrungsi said tourism operators have acknowledged that the plan to reopen two districts to international tourists in September may be delayed, as the country grapples with a severe vaccine shortage during the third wave of COVID-19, which began to affect the reopening schemes in Phuket and Samui last week.

Probably to be used for the Cabinet, Senate, Parliament, and aides boosters.  He did say the 1.5 million was not for VIP's, so he did not lie, he just omitted the minor details.

I guess it's not really surprising. Covid-forum-fatigue must be setting in.

Well lets be honest.

Its a pretty depressing subject and hence a pretty negative read  on the whole for most people.

There are only so many times you can read and dissect the same daily numbers shown in a different graphical form.

It is pretty much frequented daily by the same handful of individuals who are churning out the data and summarising the trends, despite the fact that some believe the numbers could be x10 worse than the numbers they are analysing.

I guess for anyone who tries to have a more positive outlook on life it doesn’t make a good read. So no surprise to see people posting elsewhere or out living their life rather than a taking part in a thread worrying about the possibility of dying.

If you are more of a half empty type of person i guess it may be somewhere to wallow and worry yourself a bit more.

Long term you may find the stress more of threat to your life than the virus.

Each to their own.

edit. This post will probably get deleted as someone will take it personally and run to the report button again ????

So you finally are agreeing to disagree on the views that we share, Thank you.  No stress in my life because of the discussions or the numbers, no frustration, just disbelief that people buy into the governments numbers as the truth much like the Deniers, and the antivaxxers for other news. My glass is more than half full, have no worries about dying, have a positive outlook, but am negative as far as anything coming from the Government as the truth, just like them saying they received 1.5 million doses of Pfizer from the US when in actuality it was 1,503,450 doses, and in another OP running now they have indicated how they have spread out the 1.5 million doses, however the numbers do not match the 1.5 million and there are still 1,550 doses unaccounted for as well.  So accountability and reality of the situation is what many of us do discuss here, believe what you may and to each there own as you say.  If your happy with beingtold fibs and accept them well then good on you.

Bangkok is spreading Covid-19 to the countryside according to the government

Covid cases in the provinces are increasing due to imported cases from the Bangkok and Metropolitan Region (BMR), the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said on Monday.

“The number of cases in the Bangkok and Metropolitan Region is dipping down, but it could come back up again […] and cases in other provinces are increasing,” said Dr. Apisamai Srirangsan, the CCSA’s assistant spokeswoman.

Wel no duh, the interprovincial travel has not been cut off.  People are still moving around and even traveling to BKK and then back.  What did they think was going to happen without strict and true restrictions.

Good news for Thailand down the road, assuming Princess Chulabhorn's Royal Academy continues to import Sinopharm

Thailand steps up home isolation as virus cases strain hospitals

BANGKOK, Aug 2 (Reuters) - Thailand will increase the number of people required to isolate at home with COVID-19 to 100,000, health officials said on Monday, as capacity in healthcare facilities dwindles amid a surge in cases driven by the Delta variant of the virus.

New COVID-19 infections and deaths are expected to drop and the pandemic situation in Thailand brought under control in the next two weeks, if the latest semi-lockdown measures, now imposed in 29 provinces, and extended, are 5% more effective in curbing the continued spread of the disease, said Public Health Permanent Secretary Dr. Kiatiphum Wongrajit today (Monday).
