Police are investigating after a 13 year old boy was found with a one meter length chain and padlock attacked to his right leg.

 

He was cowering in some ladies toilets at a fitness area belonging to Chiang Mai Highway District 2 under an overpass. 

 

An official said they had seen the boy loitering about last week. He was not chained but complained of being assaulted by an elder brother, reported Sanook.

 

After officials found him he tried to flee into the undergrowth.

 

Police freed him from the shackles but he would not speak or write down a message until a Myanmar interpreter was found. 

 

It was discovered he was a 13 year old Myanmar national living with relatives in the Sankamphaeng area.

 

He claimed he had found the chain himself and tied himself up, an idea that the police dismissed as nonsense. 

 

The boy is in care as investigations into what has been happening to him continued.

Poor lad, I hope some decent supports are put in place for him to recover from whatever horrors he has expereinced.

This poor Kid seems to be Burmese.

Support and Burmese dont really go into the same sentence in LOS.

But having said that, I hope a NGO takes on his plight.

He was not chained to anything just had a lock and Chain around his leg

Good on the police for dismissing the statement that he chained himself and continuing to investigate even though he is a foreign national. Most Police are not corrupt or lazy and do their best
