As measures are introduced to restrict movement as part of efforts to reduce the number of people infected with COVID-19 in Thailand, more and more of us are making huge changes to our daily routines.

The new realities of working from home, temporary unemployment, home-schooling for children, and lack of physical contact with other family members, friends and colleagues take time to get used to. Adapting to lifestyle changes such as these, and managing the fear of contracting the virus and worrying about people close to us who are particularly vulnerable, are challenging for all of us. They can be particularly difficult for people with mental health conditions.

Fortunately, there are lots of things that we can do to look after our own mental health and to help others who may need some extra support and care. Here are some tips and advice that we hope you will find useful.

That's good advice. We should keep to a healthy routine and be on guard against letting things go.

People get stress especially from hint 1  keep informed and 3 minimize newsfeed....  I am wondering how to do that with all the same news on all channels the whole day. and news that is only Government made and can not be trusted.. examples more over Contract Moderna. enough vaccines, Mor Rom not working  ... etc Good for your mental health

Nothing mentioned for those who don't know where their next meal is coming from, who are now out of a job and still have bills to pay.

It is also very hard to keep a routine and stay healthy when you're effectively housebound and mentally fatigued.

Nah, they fixed my mental health after 5 years in this country. No more can be done to worsen that situation.

Strange, I've been out of the house twice I think, that's since the middle of February, both times for badly needed dental work, we ( me & the mrs ) watch the local news for an hour in the morning, then the TV goes off until sometime in the evening when I will watch movies or favourite TV series, her indoors watches her movies, most shopping is done online, most Bill's are paid via apps or via ATM transfer.

During the day I listen to radio 2 in the UK, do what's needed indoors cooking cleaning, catch up on here to see what lunacy is going on around the country, talk with friends & family either on the phone or via messenger, and I personally feel fine, not depressed, frustrated or angry about anything.

If you have an internet TV you can usually find a half decent or your favourite radio station to listen to, I have an internet TV & a smart speaker so can listen to many UK radio stations.

I hope everyone stays safe & healthy and gets jabbed as soon as you can. ????

There’s no lockdown on the moon either. Same same but different, I’m alright Jack. ????

Yeah.

A defined practice of what a lawful and enforced lock down might be is quite fuzzy.

Largely, any such proposed mandates are really spoken in strong suggestive language.

Life in my village is normal, nobody has mentioned a lock down, some wear masks, some don't. School starts again Monday after being shut for two weeks.

I feel laughter is the key and cure at times that is way I log on each morning and read the Thai leadership predictions, solution or just <deleted>!  ????  you can't get this type of comedy back home especially for free!

Maintain your mental health by only reading/watching 'trusted' news sources as well as listening to national and regional 'authorities' who never, ever lie to the public.  ????

Then bombarded the public with hyperbole and fear which has been going on daily since March 2020 globally and keeps getting ratcheted up in intensity.  "Doomsday" now!

It's pretty easy to see how up to 80% of the population ends up mentally traumatized - and by all rights given the steady, daily diet of fear-fueled media coverage - they rightfully should be.  I don't blame them.  Just stay tuned in to your regular main-stream news channel.  They'll do the rest for you.
And the other 20% to 30% who haven't turned into quivering blobs of melting-jello by now?  They end up getting called names and demeaned.  If you don't outwardly display the proper level of fear as well as deference to authority figures, then you're perceived to be a danger to the herd and a threat.  Funny though...it's that 20 to 30% who aren't reacting with fear.  If they have any reaction it's more like frustration at the absurdity of it all.  Me personally?  I'm more "fearful" when I get in my car and drive on Thai roads.  The danger on Thai roads is very real and very immediate.

Same same.  I do prefer village life during this "pandemic."  There is a lot less drama.
