Are any hospitals on track to receive Moderna in October or has everyone's reservations been pushed back?

We just got our SMS today from the private hospital we pre-registered in June, to pay and officially register for the Moderna jab expected to arrive in early next year.

In Oz the drug regulator has just given the OK for Moderna and 10 million doses are on order for delivery from Sept thru Dec.

What everyone always forgets, not just here but in every country, there is a worldwide shortage of supply of ALL vaccines. Some countries (notably in the African continent) have had barely any vaccines delivered at all. Worldwide production is ramping up but it's a slow process and the need for boosters down the track and perhaps forever means the problems aren't going to go away.

And some governments are more agile at securing supplies but none are perfect.

(not a typo, thats the actual English spelling)

If it applies to one pvt hospital it will probably apply to all of them. We are also registered and were told October but I told my wife right from the get go that April next year will be a more likely time.

The big question is, are you in the first or second batch. This could be you register in june, but because many others register before you.. that you now in the second batch which already was announced to be in march or something similar next year.

As long we not know if really all moderna is delayed or your SMS only refers to the second batch as you were "too late" for the first batch.

Yes this is what I’m wondering too. will there be 2 batches, or did everyone get delayed together.

Has any October appointments been confirmed yet?

The main reason was the dawdling of the darn government.

They took there sweet time to order it.

Yes I'm afraid thanks to Thai Red Cross using their muscle at the last minute to push the government to take 1.1 million doses of the intended private hospitals 5 million order of Moderna, means 1.1 million of those doses will mean people will be pushed back.

I don't know how that will work, e.g. 1st in, last in is put to the next batch, that said if one hasn't registered on the Expatsvac line for the Pfizer as a backup, then I would strongly suggest one does, that is what I have done regardless that I have paid for the Moderna, so the way I figure it is if I get this mRNA shot, and the 2nd, I will push back Moderna to a later date in 2022 as a booster.

It's anything foes in Thailand......

I registered for the first batch with the local private hospital. Missed out on that one but got message yesterday to go and pay for the second batch arriving in Mar/Apr. Went this morning and got lucky paid for 2 doses.

Principal hosp group is doing it based on arability of the vaccine. The first group who had que number who made the cut off get the vaccine Those are in the first group  Those in the first group got an sms on 5 July 21 giving  them 5 days to pay and a link on line to fill out a form and attach a proof of payment/bank transfer. Now they are sending out sms to those who didn't make the first group to  Oct-dec 21 next group early next year.  Wife and I made the cut off.

THG announced on LINE they were still on track for October and they will get enough for all who had paid.

And there will definitely not be a coup and I won't cling to power. I know we are not talking about Prayuth here but I have completely lost faith in anything people say now because the PM can step in at any time and say we need those vaccines for booster shots to front line medical workers etc etc.

I would seriously like to be wrong about this.

where can i find this?

A rough translation of the screenshot courtesy of LINE:
"The Buren Healthcare Group would like to inform you that one vaccine that the company has been allocated by the pharmaceutical company is close to the number of donors that are required, and the company will fully implement the vaccine management capabilities for all those who receive the payment. The fourth quarter, run by the relevant agencies, is the manufacturer, importer, distributor, and firm, confirming that it operates in the company's share. As best we can, and hopefully everything will go according to the terms of the agreement."

I agree, that's why I've also registered for the Pfizer. The whole vaccination process has not earned anyone's confidence; neither expat or Thais.  If I am able to get Pfizer, then I might try to use Moderna as a booster at the end of the year or early next year since the down payment has been paid.

Lucky is when you actually get the doses you paid for.

THG?

I registered and paid at Bangkok Udon Thani Hospital.  I heard each hospital will get 10,000 doses.  Hospitals with more than 10,000 registrants will have a lottery system.

Take this with a grain of salt.

Despite the thousands of  Generals running the country, A  supply chain strategy wasn't taught in military school.

But thanks for sharing that sounds good, lets see if they keep their word. The booking & payment process was super smooth!

Could this be for the second lot of Moderna ?

We paid for Moderna at Medpark, no news at all from them at the moment.  That said, for some reason I don't seem to receive emails from Medpark in some cases so I may well only pick up news from seeing others post about it, MedPark are rubbish at responding to emails (or even answering the phone judging from all the complaints on their FB page and Maps).

And as if by magic, email from Medpark today saying they have have secured enough Moderna to service the demand.  So that's both places we registered, Medpark and Kasemrad.
