A senior advisor to the Hua Hin-Cha-Am Tourism Business Association (HHCTBA) has proposed that COVID-19 restrictions in Hua Hin and throughout Prachuap Khiri Khan are eased.

The most significant of the measures the HHCTBA are calling for to be eased are the opening of swimming pools and restaurants in hotels.

On Tuesday (Aug 10), Mr. Udom Srimahachota, Vice President of the Western Thai Hotels Association Advisor to the Hua Hin-Cha-Am Tourism Business Association revealed that he has submitted an urgent letter to the Communicable Disease Committee (CDC) of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province.

Where are the tourists coming from who will enjoy these "freedoms"?

Maybe a poster in HH can enlighten me (in deepest darkest ISSAN)

Bangkok is all I can think of, but we shouldn't travel I am told.

the guy is on a different planet and his suggestions are rather limited in scope, what about the other businesses that have been shut down - a rather biased narrow minded selfish view on things, and no idea what tourists want

Probably mainly Bangkok.  Some of my new "neighbours" are Thai and farang refugees from Bangkok who have decided that it is safer for young families to be in Hua Hin than Bangkok.

They want to open things up to encourage people to come to Hua Hin from the places where there's a real problem.

The public health department would no doubt have rejected this immediately.

Prove that people can play by the rules first... then ask for things to be eased.
