A mother and her son who were arrested on Wednesday by a police commando unit in Rangsit sub-district of Pathum Thani north of Bangkok.

The unnamed pair were named in a Don Muang court warrant after the son allegedly defrauded people by selling cheap air-pods online and then used his mum's account for the transfer of funds.

The 33 year old son advertised on Facebook that he could supply the devices for just 5,500 baht, a saving from the regular price of 8,900 baht.

But he didn't deliver any. There are more than 50 victims in many areas and losses are in the region of several 100,000's of baht, reported Daily News

The son admitted to the advertisement but claimed that there was a supply chain problem with the goods due to the pandemic.

As for his 57 year old mum, she said she had no idea what her son was up to. She had let him use her account.

Both were handed over to the Bang Khen police and locked up on charges of extortion, conspiracy to commit fraud and making false representations online.

Supply chain problem? Just check if he have an order somewhere. Quickly guilty!

Mom letting somebody use her account???? Clear rules about that. Not allowed! Quickly guilty!
