If a woman in Thailand had behaved like the OP describes, I would have just carried on to the beach resort and found another women to put in my bed for the week. Probably not as easy to do that in the USA though.

When you see the size of some of those Florida monsters as an example , a very strong bed frame would be needed.

We got to the crux of what triggered her, which was my apparent dismissal of a request to check my spam folder for a possible email from Korean Air. My lack of timely "jumping right on it" when she asked me was interpreted as "I don't give a flat damn about her wants and needs." Nothing could be further from the truth. I was intently focused on the 15-hour drive on the wrong side of the road, not my spam folder. 

 

And then we <deleted>.  For hours.

ACTUALLY...............  that does make a lot of sense.   Because I when I hear/read  a post like the OPs I

I believe you.    Seems like many here are either real p******s  or  just willing to go with " most of the

time she is wonderful"  .      If that was the case with me.... I would only see her when she was being

My guess is it was planned. It's just to convenient, argument over tiny matter, straight out of the car and off to a friend's house and needs to stay there for a few days, because of what exactly? Certainly a successful strategy if after all of she is rewarded with a gift. I sympathize, with the US being tops for obesity, options are very limited. Not so sure she would be willing to jump out of the car if you were headed for a few days in Pattaya.

 

How is the tantrum funded? Who pays for the couple of days away?

This is of course the correct way to treat all women.

The way you told the story is you just mentioned you had been there before looking at houses. I doubt that’s all you said. You must have brought up the fact that you lost the deposit and spoke about a lot more specifics. Just mentioning you were in that area before looking at houses would not have created that reaction from her. The fact that you changed the story and posted it here just shows me you don’t respect  her and you post on a forum in a country you don’t even live in now to get moral support for something that was obviously your fault. It was water under the bridge and you should have known it would be a sensitive topic. Sorry but you are the one in the wrong with all due respect. You had forgiven her already right ?

Well I had one more or less the same as what you described , and you seem placid enough to handle it all better than me .

I think the final straw came for me when we planned a nice slow drive from Phuket to Chiang Mai last year.

The first day was fine stopping at Chumphon , the next day we arrived in Prachuap Kilikahn lovely place. Everything was great until she went into one and walked off and left me . When I got back to the hotel 3 hours after she had locked the door , when she opened it and let me in she decided to pack her things and walked out the hotel at 1 am.

So I went to bed and next morning she was nowhere to be seen. So I called her at midday and she told me she was on her way to Chiang Mai on a bus. That was enough for me , 12 years together and I put these crazy outbursts down to the menopause as she was 53 st the time. 

She has since then sent me 18 different Line messages but I have never opened or read them.

Once I would when younger but I will not tolerate this type of irrational infantile behavior.  Learned a hard lesson, just divorce her it will only get worse.
