On the other hand, I've never seen a top hose connection glued on, they are part of the tank moulding.

Example: Aluminium radiator with plastic tanks.

Here is the answer; My after market one was made in China :cheesy: I also have seen electrical connections on a cheap electric bike i have from China, crimped and hot glued ????

  • You should buy the recommended coolant to top up, don't water down the installed coolant/corrosion inhibiter..

  • They sell distilled water in Tescos's  about 15 baht per liter look in the car care section  they will also have ready mixed coolant for an extortionate price.   You don't want to be us

Probably fine as long as you add the appropriate additives.   Just water is not very healthy for the cooling system (long term anyway)

Cars, trucks have had aluminum radiators with plastic top and bottom tanks for years. Since the 90's it has dominated the market, due to its being cheaper to produce,

I didn't say that (although its correct) Canthai55 did, but you have attributed the post to me.

Copper is a much better heat conductor than aluminum

all info in the link

"The brass and copper radiator is by far the best at dissipating heat and has very few problems, less for the occasional leaky solder joint. Should this happen, the leak can be easily repaired."

That's true, but it's rare to see a coppper cored rad these day. I have one on my 1963 Land Rover.

This is getting silly times have changed Ali rads from are China so cheap.
