We would love to go places but don't want to put up with the hassles, so we are kept waiting. Treat us as the local residents that we are, and give us a reason to go somewhere. We want places that are open without curfews or jail time, to have a drink with meals or a beer on the beach, see some national parks that are open, no covid testing requirements every few days, easy convenient flights between provinces without provincial quarantine so we can get around, and drop the useless 90 day reporting once and for all. Did I miss something? You are already here and of no interest to them.
Bangkok Barry
Stating the obvious to TAT: If the Indians want to celebrate Diwali they will do it in India, not in Thailand. You do not come to Thailand to celebrate an Indian festival.
digger70
Thailand bets on Diwali season & Indians to boost its tourism. They shouldn't Bet on anything right now . Popular Post poskat
"Thailand is betting on travellers from other countries to take advantage of its relaxed rules for tourists" unfortunately, their ideas of relaxed rules are not what tourists would consider relaxed rules.

ivor bigun
So Thailand will become rich again with the Indian tourists as they sit outside 7/11 sharing a beer between 3 of them , i will never forget about 26 years ago in my room in BKK ,hearing a banging on my door and on opening it a young woman begging to be let in ,it seems an Indian guy had paid the bar fine ,but on getting back to his room she found two more just waiting for their share ,she ran.
Saratoga Slim Anon
???? An old racist Thai saying goes that if you see a snake and an Indian in front of you kill the Kak (Indian) first. The saying is so pervasent even a government minister uttered it a few weeks ago. How sweet it is to see Chucky Cheese O'chan so desperate for new grift.
Popular Post khunpa
I am already in Thailand, have money to spend and want to go to the beach. However I am not going anytime soon, as: 1. I am not double vaccinated yet, thanks to the slow vaccine rollout. 2. I don’t want to quarantine. 3. I don’t want to take tests risking to be forced to quarantine during my holiday. 4. I don’t want to risk getting arrested if I enjoy a beer on my holiday. 5. I don’t want to go to a place with nothing to do, because everything is closed. As I don’t want to go, why would anyone outside the country want to come and risk their holiday turning into a nightmare ?? You go on holiday to relax, not add stress to your everyday life. We seem to hear all these sayings and more, but only when it comes to Tourism or Vaccines. At long last the plane full of the rich Indians that TAT allowed to take off and come to save the country has been given clearance to land … It’s only been 18 months in the air … … Maybe it’s been ….. Dont confuse me
Not withstanding that India has it's own problems, the country is not exactly top of the pops when it comes to wealthy tourists. Perhaps they should work out how much revenue is being pumped into the economy by way of expats who reside here, they might just see it's a substantial amount worth cultivating. But this requires common sense and the ability to be realistic.
Mavideol
this is "deja vue" as last year TAT already published their expectations about "rich" Indians coming, I guess it was a fiasco then and it wil be another fiasco now

Dogmatix
TAT thinking that if there are a billion Indians, if they do a few Amazing Thailand ads, 10% of them will come during Diwali. 100 million Indians will arrive and dump a million baht each without even having to let them buy land. So 100bn baht.
