BANGKOK (NNT) - The Ministry of Tourism and Sports will be requesting from the Cabinet a budget needed to hire K-Pop superstar Lisa and world-renowned opera singer Andrea Bocelli to perform at this year’s Phuket countdown event.

Minister of Tourism and Sports Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn has provided an update on the ministry’s plan to hire Thai-born K-Pop superstar Lalisa Manobal, and world-famous Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli to perform at this year’s countdown event in Phuket.

Mr. Phiphat said the plan has yet to be finalized, as the Ministry of Tourism and Sports needs to review the details of both celebrities’ contracts.

The minister said the plan, including the required budget, will then be proposed at the mobile Cabinet retreat in Krabi province on 15-16 November.

He believes the presence of both celebrities will help boost Thailand’s economy, adding that the ministry will be inviting private firms to help sponsor this special event.

Much better things to spend the money on....................!!!!!

wonder if it would be a popular event if they made all people attending show 2 covid vaccines and a  pcr test before attending.

If not a mass gathering is just a potential covid explosion

I am surprised the 2 "Celebs" hav'nt already got confirmed bookings for New Years Eve - or would expect them to have by mid November.......

or is it no other country will risk the likely covid cluster or pay such a high fee.....

Being a multi billionaire maybe Phipat will offer to go halves?

I think that this is the highest priority decision that the cabinet in Krabi can possibly and easily get wrong. I do hope they have had monks pick an august day for the proceedings otherwise....

100 Million THB ......that could feed a lot of poor people ....... priorities  ????

That's Molly.

She came for little money.

20,000 Baht only. The rest of 99,980.000 can be distributed between the leaders.
