Will 2022 offer an OMS/WHO or CDC digital and or paper cert valid everywhere?

Featured Replies

At present there is Thai one ,An EU one, The OMS Yellow Book , The IATA one the NHS UK one  the RF Passe Sanitaire in France

The goal is  to have a valid record of valid vax or covid testing recovery  and history to allow or deny access and travel. Surely the Global body should get on this asap?

Is anyone in the loop of an app for Android  that will work in all  continents?

I appreciate there are privacy and security issues and of course the cost , but a $1 download by 2-3 billion people or sponsored ad could surely pay for that, e.g. a different airline each day could pay for a link for those unable to afford or acces int payment systems in developing places. like the phoneless but vaxxed grannies in canoes who cross teh Mekhng to earn a living each Wednesday at cross border marlets.

IATA one is ok but wont help those on land, yacht/cruise ship, seamen or land borders

I am not suggesting one app be compulsory but one global udate dsecure app would make life simpler for me and I'm sure many other frequent travellers

By the time all the governments got together and worked it out they wouldn't be needed anymore.

Why would you need an app? What is missing isn't a 'universal app' but paper certificates that sometimes aren't issued by some vaccination centres for whatever reason. Get that paper certificate that works everywhere, all the time, carry a photo of it on your phone if you feel it must be on a phone as it's 2021, include the QR code as well, and you're covered. That's what I do.

There seems to be an obsession now that everything must be on an app. Pretty tough on those who don't have or want a smart phone or a 24/7 internet connection when out and about. Paper works all the time, everywhere, no matter what.
