New Year .... Koh Chang Or Hua Hin ?

Featured Replies

Hello All

After 12 years celebrating the countdown to the New Year in Pattaya . I now feel it  would be a good time for a change of scenery .. I am leaning toward either Koh Chang or Hua Hin (Both within a short'ish acceptable  drive for me )

Any recommendation where to go and Why?  or any other destinations and again why! (max 5 hrs drive)

Hopefully fingers crossed by then some of the restriction will have  been either relaxed or at best locally  ignored.

Stay safe and have a good one ????

Omicron will tell you

You have to do a ATK test before entering the ferry and hotel at Koh Chang.

Just so you have that in the back of your mind before deciding where to go

And they will check  your pulse before entering Hua Hin...if you show any signs of life....you will be denied entry

I think you will find that to be wrong ...you  just need to show proof of being double vaxx'ed, But  if I am wrong please can to show me what source you get your info from that would help alot ??

Cheers

A bit of scare mongering ... just googled  = Is Koh Chang Open for Tourists? Yes, it is. It is possible for domestic tourists to come to the island. The only restriction is that visitors must have either proof of vaccination or a negative PCR coronavirus test, issued within the previous 72 hours.

I've booked a hotel on Koh Chang in January. If i am required to take a test it is being cancelled.

I too had plans about a trip to KC and aware of the "official" requirements but after reading the tread I linked you I got second thoughts.

I am doubled jabbed but I choose to avoid any place that might involve testing because I am terrified about the consequences of a positive test. Sad but true

If you are double jabbed you do not need a test.   Only those who need a test are those who are not jabbed.

Just contacted a Hotel in Koh Change .. there reply was :-    Proof of double vaccination OR a test if you’re not vaccinated. That’s the rule ????

I’m on Koh Chang now, weather is beautiful and prices still low.  I was asked to show my vaccination certificate before boarding the ferry, I haven’t been tested this year.  Hua Hin is boring, I only go for the jazz festival.

That doesn't sound too difficult

There is NO TESTING if double jabbed ! don't believe the fear mongers on here. I live on Koh Chang and my wife is a Health Volunteer. Just have your Vaccination certificate on hand.

FAKE NEWS !

I would say Koh Chang

half the tourist areas don't look as if covid has affected it at all. nice beaches and a tropical feel to it

Hua Hin is just a city that happens to be next to the sea

Latest CenterPoint ferry timetable, and a reminder for those with a membership discount card, they are up for renewal Jan 1st. Don't forget ID and Photo.
