Why do some toyota sedans have little vanes near the mirrors?

Mercedes should have them, they’re for overtaking Verstappen when he’s on fresher tyres.

Not only Toyota uses them. They are used to reduce the wind noise that is produced by the side rearview mirrors. Even you can buy them for any vehicle. (the question would be....do they work? :))
