Arrivals from UK need PCR test 3-5 days after arrival? Where? Prices & Info appreciated thanks

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have a family member coming to visit from the UK and most of the requirements are clear about going from the airport to an approved hotel for 1 night, having the test etc. But he said he needs another PCR test a few days into his stay - can anyone advice where he should go and how much it costs etc? For example, is it at a hospital? Clinic? Or are there home testing kits? I'm a bit confused.
Many thanks for anyone who reads this and takes the time to apply

I've never heard of this requirement and I fly in a few days - was this information given to your friend by the Embassy in UK ? As far as things stand, it's still the PCR test no more than 72 hours from departure and then the test and go at the hotel in Thailand

Is it possible that they are getting confused with the rapid antigen test to be done on day 6 or 7 after arrival? He will be given a kit for that by the hotel.

oblomob is correct.  Note: your hotel and test must be booked and paid for before you get on the flight.   My test cost 4000 baht includes 3 meals and secure transport from airport.  My hotel room was 780 baht on top.  Are there not any 'ready to fly' type sites that you can look at?  The airline company usually posts something and if you do not comply with their rules you will not be allowed on the flight even though you may have bought and paid for a ticket.  Be careful about travel dates and your TP.  I saw people turned away from boarding because their pass did not start until the following day.  I have not been asked to have further tests and I am here now.
