Thailand’s top virologist says there is scientific evidence proving the effectiveness of combining COVID-19 vaccines. He added that this evidence is due to be published in international medical journals.

So he surfs too....

If you get so many jabs there is aways something that will work. First a Sinovac and or a Sinopharm, than an Astra and than a Pfizer or a Moderna,,, and if it is not working enough we give you a booster.... But...in fact you are not vaccinated with 2 the same vaccines to have a good protection so a booster could do his its job better as recommended by th WHO

Hmmm, that’s good too!  When I read it I thought….”Shut up, sit down and roll up your sleeve……”. I like your interpretations better, though.  I might be getting too cranky! ????

Look up

Prof. Dr. Sucharit Bhakdi, Thai German and most awarded in Germany.

Dr. Michael Yeadon, virologist and former Pfizer Vice President for 20 years.

Dr. Malone, inventor of mNRA

Dr. Peter McCullough, cardiac specialist amongst other things,

to name a few who have others ideas. Of course Wikipedia and others do their usual job on them, to stop any dialogue amongst scientists, who offer dissenting viewpoints. No doubt many will ignore, or rant, that is okay, as someone said before, it is easier to fool someone, than to get them to admit they were fooled. Remember, there are three types of jabs and only one type (not brand), uses well founded, tested technology.

How about you link to the specific articles and evidence which prove your assertion. Don't be lazy, most people here at least try to support their arguments.

Oh wait, I know why

"Sucharit Bhakdi is a retired Thai-German microbiologist. In 2020 and 2021 Bhakdi became a prominent source of misinformation about the COVID-19 pandemic, claiming that the pandemic was "fake" and that COVID-19 vaccines were going to decimate the world's population."

"Michael Yeadon is a British anti-vaccine activist and retired pharmacologist who attracted media attention for making false or unfounded claims about the COVID-19 pandemic and the safety of COVID-19 ..."

McCullough promoted misinformation and falsehoods about COVID-19, the COVID-19 vaccine, and COVID-19 treatments

Sadly the 'Thailand' part of this sentence, to me, automatically negates anything he says.

Thailand, hub of experts who know nothing about their supposed areas of expertise.

How did he get his job, by his own merit, or by his family connections?

(no need to answer, we all know)

I'm still trying to train my throat muscles to not let the virus in.

What expertise do you have to accuse him of not knowing what he's talking about? His assertion has been well supported internationally and adequate evidence of that has been provided in this thread.

Just admit you haven't enough vaccines for the third year in a row.

You'll just have to use whats still in the closet and whatever vaccine gets donated to you.

What about the fact that every scientist and medical authority on the planet agrees with him? Don't you read articles which don't suit your narrative?

You can say the same about US "experts".

Land of connections, corporate "donations", and nepotism.

You are only told whatever makes the big boys the most money.  Easy to do especially when hiding behind titles where you expect no political influence.

He is backing up what other experts are saying all over the world but it won’t stop the TB or the d&g merchants having a dig.

Strangely enough people were criticising the 3 month gap a few months ago, now most countries have adopted it.

Regarding the comments above, unfortunately Dr. Yong Poovorawan is right...

Reuters 16th December...

WHO makes interim recommendations for mixing and matching COVID-19 vaccines

SCMP 17th December...

Coronavirus: WHO gives the nod for mix-and-match vaccine schedules

WHO 16th December...

Interim recommendations for heterologous COVID-19 vaccine schedules

Thanks for these links, especially the third one which accesses a PDF showing various studies (including from Thailand) as to mix-n-match approach/ results. The results of AZ followed by Pfizer have been published since April, and repeated as listed (again in Nature at https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-01805-2)

I saw the Philippines is looking at boosting involving Sinovac and Sinopharm followed by AZ then Pfizer, but the study has not issued its report yet.

Bangkok provides access now to Pfizer after many options as in a related post here in Aseannow: (emphasis mine)

Quote

"BANGKOK (NNT) - The Central Vaccination Center at Bang Sue Grand Station will begin registering people via mobile networks for booster shots using the Pfizer vaccine.

This round of registrations is intended for people who received either two doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine; a mix-vaccination with the first dose being the Sinovac or Sinopharm jab, followed by AstraZeneca; or the Pfizer vaccine as their second injection following an initial dose of either the Sinovac or Sinopharm jab. The interval between the second dose and the booster must also be 90 days or longer."

As with earlier in the vaccine rollout, the mRNA options are most easily available in Bangkok and then in the bigger cities. Our local hospital says they won't start boosters until January. Worse for me, I've been told only AZ will be available as a booster. If I want/ desire mRNA, I'll need to wait longer (??) or find a ride to a city.

We are offered Pfizer-booster walk-in on the island where I live from the 26th this month, for us that received the second jab in September; it's not a major city, only 60,000 registered inhabitant on the whole island, but probably because is a tourist destination.

It's one thing to mention that combinations are wonderful, and that countries should do the best they can with what they have. Kind of Common Sense 101? However folks like dr. yong should be offering concrete plans for thailand for the next six months, rather than pontificating. On the plus side he has his little temp-check sticker.

I think the plan is AZ 2X then Pfizer 1X, but that's just based on regime-speak over the past few weeks. And we're told by the health minister that thailand has conquered the weak, inferior COVID. So no worries.

Safety
Limited safety data are available for the majority of heterologous product combinations.

Ok, show me a credible authority stating otherwise.

What are you talking about.

Argument with a guy who's probably doesn't even live and understand Thailand.

You need enough vaccines to vaccinate the people.

They don't have enough vaccines to even give boosters.

Don't wet your pants but your hero Anutin practically declared himself the next Prime Minister.

If Thais have their way it'll never happen!

The story was about mixing vaccines. Try to stay on topic. If you wish to claim he had an ulterior motive in saying that then put up some evidence or stop engaging in baseless claims.
