Organizers of the New Year’s Eve countdown in Pattaya City are now requiring eventgoers to present a negative Covid test result accompanied by a doctor’s note, and produce evidence on the Moh Promt application of having been fully inoculated against COVID-19. The increased requirements come as organizers of New Year’s festivities elsewhere are ramping up their disease prevention measures or canceling some of the planned events.

Nah.... I'll give it a miss thx.

Bars oops restaurants outside the area will do a great business. Get a hotel room facing the ocean invite 4 girls and buy enough snake medicine at 7/11 and you are all set.  The girls might kill you but what a way to go.

The city has prepared measures to screen people who will partake in the countdown event. A participant will need to present evidence of a negative result from either an ATK or PCR-type of Covid test that is no older than 72 hours, together with a doctor’s note for the result.

All these requirements because the mayor of Pattaya has insisted from way back that the new year celebrations would go ahead in Pattaya despite Bangkok closing celebrations to keep people safe .

The message from the mayor .''We are open to take your money whatever the risk to the local population  ''

This is a free festival and has nothing to do with money making but all to do with the keeping the fun flag flying and providing much needed work and business for the besieged city traders

What a pain.

Just get an Ocean Front room at a resort.

Though around 4:00 you wish you hadn't with all the noise still going on.  Lousy Thai bands playing "Hotel California" over and over again at full blast.

If you're fully inoculated why do you need a test?  You're safe?  Right?

No, you still need a temperature check and to wear a face mask. Think of the inoculation as your passport, but you still need a visa.
